I Was Unsure About These Buzzy Items Until I Saw Them Styled for Fall
I've probably said this a million times, but it's always worth repeating: Not all trends are created equal. Just what does that mean? Well, for example, some trends last months or years, and others last a mere few weeks. Some are statement-making, and others are subtle. Some are loved by the masses, and others end up being more niche. I could go on and on…
This, of course, applies to trending items too. Whether it's a shoe style, bag, or belt, there are It pieces we buy that we end up loving for long periods of time. Sadly, others leave us with buyer's remorse all too soon. On a positive note, however, today's edit focuses on the former. At first, I was a little unsure about these designer buys, but after seeing them styled, it was easy for me to realize that these items aren't just buzzy. They also feel like forever pieces. From The Row's bag that's constantly on my feed to the Chloé top one WWW senior editor can't stop talking out, they're investments that make each outfit extra special.
Every celebrity stylist has been pulling looks from Chemena Kamali's debut at Chloé, and I've been carefully saving each to my Pinterest board. It wasn't until I saw the pieces on senior editor Anna LaPlaca that I realized how wearable the collection truly is.
Manolos are obviously a classic (Carrie Bradshaw would agree), but some of the prints and colors can feel a little bit too prim and polished for my taste. However, after seeing the suede and croc versions in a beautiful chocolate brown, I've been convinced otherwise.
I'll be honest. When I first saw The Row's 90's Bag, I thought, "What's so special?" Now that I see how good it looks with any outfit, I realize that I was wrong. There have been many moments this past month when I have an outfit and think about how this bag would easily be the best finishing touch. I thought the minimalistic design wasn't special, but it's actually the no-frills design that makes it so easy to wear with any look.
Another east-west bag after my heart currently happens to be Alaïa's Le Teckel bag. The elongated straps and shape can be spotted from a mile away, and it feels different and more unique than your regular black handbag.
Bottega Veneta's Andiamo and Sardine bags had my attention for a while, but the bag that ended up speaking to me in the end is the Hop Intrecciato Tote. It offers that luxurious woven design but has a roomy and slouchy shape that fits the relaxed vibe I'm looking for.
