The Most Well-Rested Fashion People Say These Are the Absolute Best Mattresses (and They're on Sale)
When you take a look at some of the most powerful women in the fashion-and-beauty industry, what do you see? You'd probably guess great clothes, jaw-dropping projects, and peak productivity—all things that are undoubtably true. But there's a secret to their success you wouldn't automatically guess: owning the best luxury mattress.
Time and again, Fortune 500 moguls, celebrities, media personalities, and even this editor have preached about how sleep is one of the most powerful tools we have when it comes to combatting burnout and boosting productivity. (Candidly, if I get less than six hours of sleep, I don't just look like a zombie—I feel like one too.) Given our incredibly fast-paced world in which data-driven metrics and algorithms can take a toll on our work-life balance and mental health, I wanted to poll a handful of successful women across the fashion-and-beauty world to ask how they prioritize rest and, naturally, the products they swear by to keep sleep their number one priority.
From organic mattresses to TikTok-viral magnesium supplements, these seven fashion and beauty founders, stylists, tastemakers, and editors are sharing their tips and tricks for prioritizing sleep. Below, shop all of their essentials (most of which are deeply discounted thanks to the newly begun summer-sale season).
How to shop for a mattress:
While going in-store can be the manner of choice for most people (includingBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing 's co-founder, Hillary Kerr, who, as documented on her Substack, jumped on plenty!), there's a slew of direct-to-consumer brands and buzzy labels dedicated to shipping your new mattress directly to your home.
The best way to figure out your mattress of choice is to determine what you're looking for: firm (to help with back support and spinal alignment), soft (for that overly plush, sink-into-your-bed feeling), or somewhere in the middle?
All this is to say, don't forget to read the reviews of customers who bought a mattress style similar to the kind you're looking for.

Do you have a specific routine when you head to bed or to relax and unwind at the end of the night?
Lately I've been doing big puzzles with way too many tiny pieces, which is so nerdy, but I find it almost meditative. Being on my phone less lately also means I read more books instead. Way more relaxing. And when all else fails, I make popcorn and watch '90s movies.
How many hours of sleep do you get a day? (Or, alternatively, how many do you aim to get a night? No judgment!)
On average six hours unfortunately. But I aim for eight. And I try to find one day a week to make up some of the sleep.
I'm curious about what mattress you sleep on. What's your preferred firmness/softness? Any pillow preferences?
Pillows as flat as possible. And firm but not too firm organic mattress—always from Naturepedic.

What does wellness look like to you?
To me, wellness is not about focusing on the way you look or the picture-perfect routines some sell. Wellness is a journey that is sometimes simple, other times messy, complicated, and complex, but it is a constant learning process about what makes you feel the strongest and healthiest at different stages of your life, tailored to your individual self.
Researchers past and present have found an intrinsic link between sleeping and productivity and job performance. I'm curious on how your resting-and-sleeping schedule empowers you in your career and line of work.
When I am on a great sleep schedule, I wake up fresh, energetic, and my brain is super sharp. A good sleep schedule for me also means that I am up earlier and before anyone else, giving myself the right start and allowing my mind to be and to flow. This allows me to be more productive.
Do you have any specific wellness or rest-related products you swear by? For example, this can be something like an Oura Ring or related sleep app, a specific pair of socks, blue light glasses, a certain pajama set you feel the most comfortable in, etc.
A great magnesium supplement at night before my night tea does wonders!

Do you have a specific routine when you head to bed or to relax and unwind at the end of the night?
I'm a night-shower kind of gal, and it's a big part of my wind-down routine. I take a steaming hot shower, lather on some of Phlur's Missing Person body oil, spray my pillows with Missing Person EDP (I love a little scent memory before I go to bed and love waking up to a comforting smell), then I always drink a hot cup of water and add the Magnesi-Om powder to help me relax. I usually read for about 30 minutes before passing out.
I'm curious about what mattress you sleep on. What's your preferred firmness/softness? Any pillow preferences?
I sleep on the Coop pillow. It's a combination of shredded memory foam and microfiber. It's an incredible pillow. The whole family including the kids use Coop. My mattress is a Casper medium firmness.

I believe it is all linked together. Not only with job performance but life performance. When I don't get enough sleep, I usually always skip my workout. When I'm on track with my sleeping schedule, I wake up with good motivation in my mind and body. It feels balanced, and I feel good. So I'm more motivated to work out. Working out also leads to productivity with the rest of the day. I wear a lot of hats during the day, as I have multiple companies and businesses to look after, so it's essential for me to wear them throughout the day. The key to all of this is longevity, right? So the better sleep I get, the more I can do for a longer period of time.

How many hours of sleep do you get a day? (Or, alternatively, how many do you aim to get a night? No judgment!)
I sleep about four to five hours a night. I operate better off little sleep, oddly. When I have too much time to sleep, I feel drowsy and lazy in the morning. The anxiety and stress of work and time difference dealing with European designers also doesn't help with sleep!
I'm curious about what mattress you sleep on. What's your preferred firmness/softness? Any pillow preferences?
My mattress is Tuft Needle, and I love it. I also sometimes sleep with an eye mask and always with a heating pad.

[My husband and I] have a Naturepedic mattress, as we love the ones we bought for our kids. I greatly appreciate the fact that Naturepedic's organic mattresses are EWG Verified (making the brand the first to receive this distinction), GOTS certified, Made Safe certified, manufactured in the USA, and many of the options are customizable. We have the brand's Halcyon Azure mattress, which in only available in stores, but we also liked the EOS Classic Organic Mattress ($2799) and the very decadent EOS Pillow Top Organic Mattress ($3839), which are latex-coils hybrids. (Personally, I'm team coils for life, but if you prefer an all-latex mattress, Naturepedic makes that, too.)
Both the Classic and the Pillow Top are customizable, so if you like a firm mattress and your partner is more of a plush-mattress sort of person, you can personalize as needed and both get what you want. Also worth noting: Naturepedic offers a latex-free or vegan version of the Classic, as well as a latex-free version of the Pillow Top, if that interests you!

What does wellness look like to you?
Doing what feels right for you and not overthinking things—your body, what you eat, how much you move. I've found that if you listen to your body, it all balances out. Mine is currently telling me to eat pasta for a week straight. (I'm in Italy but obviously support that anywhere.)

I cannot function on no sleep—just can't. The day is gone. I'm not one of those power-throughers. I need to be rested to give my social command performances (or Zoom command performances, same thing).
I'm curious about what mattress you sleep on. What's your preferred firmness/softness? Any pillow preferences?
We have a Casper mattress. When they first delivered it in the smallish box and it expanded to king size, it blew my damn mind. We have a cushioned mattress cover on it, but it's on the firmer side. I like a shallower, softer pillow, not a giant thing. And there's nothing more depressing than a hard pillow at a hotel.

How many hours of sleep do you get a day? (Or, alternatively, how many do you aim to get a night? No judgment!)
I'm lucky. I've always been a great sleeper who gets seven to eight hours a night. I'm out and about every single day, which wears me out (I'm sure this plays a factor), and the second my face hits the pillow, I'm out in just a few minutes.
I know you previously went on a sleep-tied press trip to a sleep sanctuary in Portugal. Can you tell me a bit more about that experience?
If you don't know about Hästens, prepare to be shell-shocked by its luxury prices. It's only famous for being the most expensive and luxurious mattress brand in the world—known for providing beds to the rich, royals, and famous. It's no surprise that sleep is a lifestyle for Hästens, and the brand takes it to the next level with its CBR Boutique Hotel in Coimbra, Portugal. I went on a press trip there last year to rejuvenate my sleep. I personally slept on a $50,000 mattress (which is a great life achievement I'll forever brag about), and it might have been the 11-hour flight, six glasses of wine, and great hospitality, but I experienced the best sleep of my life. When I opened my eyes the first morning, I had to try and remember where I was. The best part of the hotel was that they had a room service menu for pillows, so you get the correct level of support and plushness for resting your head throughout the night. This should be standard practice in all hotels IMO. Throughout the trip, I was able to try different types of mattresses, pillows, duvets, and I learned that what you really need to get a good night's sleep is to know what you want!
I'm curious about what mattress you sleep on. What's your preferred firmness/softness? Any pillow preferences?
I've tested five mattresses in the last two years, and I currently sleep on the Casper Snow. It's soft and plush but offers plenty of firm support that my partner prefers. My favorite pillow is from Hästens of course! It's quite the splurge, but I couldn't live without one after my trip.
