What to Wear When You’re Feeling Stressed, According to a Doctor

The festive season can be incredibly stressful, but your wardrobe can be used to your psychological advantage.

According to cognitive psychologist Lawrence D. Rosenblum, Glamour reports, your brain acknowledges when and why you have positive feelings in certain situations and can duplicate them when those experiences are repeated. Thereby, he says, "If you've had a good experience and will be in a similar situation, it makes sense to wear the same garments you wore in that context."

To reduce your stress levels, wear clothing that makes you feel happy and comfortable, like snuggly sweaters and your favourite jeans. "Our clothes affect how others see us, but even how we feel about ourselves," Rosenblum says.
