I'm Planning My 2022 Wardrobe and Already Want to Wear These 6 Pieces
I hate to break it to you, but there's only a matter of weeks to go before 2022. (I know, I'm not sure where this year went, either.) With the New Year looming ahead, I've already started to shift my focus towards my resolutions, goals, and what I want this next trip around the sun to look like. Of course, being the style person I am, you can bet that the first thing on my mind is a little closet refresh.
I plan to make 2022 my most stylish year yet with a few key wardrobe additions and some of the pretty pieces from our very own Who What Wear Collection, which have already made the cut. Yep, our line is stocking many of the easy and chic silhouettes my wardrobe is craving right now (think elevated skirt sets and stunning smocked pieces), and since sharing is what I do best, I figured I'd go ahead and highlight the six silhouettes I'm eyeing to add to my closet, as styled by my fellow editors. Continue on to see why I'm not alone in my infatuation here.
Elevated Matching Sets
"I really just can't get enough of matching sets, and this one is no exception! On warmer L.A. days, I'll definitely be wearing it with a crop top and booties, but it's also big enough to fit an oversize sweater underneath."—Anneliese Dominguez, fashion editor, branded content
Minimal styling effort required.
"I love how versatile this shacket is. In addition to being super warm and soft (the only way I want my clothes to be once winter descends), you can style it so many different ways. I love it with the Lottie Midi Skirt (it's a match made in heaven), but I've also been wearing it with jeans, leather trousers, as a minidress (yes, really!), and it's divine. Plus, the dusty ashy color is really, really chic and way more flattering than I expected."—Erin Jahns, senior beauty editor
"This skirt! I almost always gravitate towards miniskirts, but this midi has converted me. There's something very retro and timeless about it. Buy it, and depending on how you style it, I promise you'll wear it forever."—Jahns
Smocked Tops + Dresses
"This dress is pretty effortless. You don't really need much to dress it up even more—the beautiful pattern, scrunch details, and bell sleeves really do the work here. The dark green makes it perfect for holiday parties, but I think it will also look good at the office or at dinner with friends. Just dress it up with some heels and pretty earrings, or wear it with boots for a tougher, modern look."—Sarah Yang, managing editor, THE/THIRTY
"Whether you have a holiday party, brunch, work-to-drinks plans, date night, or anything else on the books this month, this easy dress can take you there. It's the perfect happy medium between casual and dressy, so comfortable, and comes in the most beautiful and intricate floral print that's guaranteed to garner compliments wherever you go. I love how it looks styled over knee boots, but it can easily be dressed up further with heels or dressed down a little with ankle boots or even sneakers."—Nicole Eshaghpour, senior market editor
"I'm obsessed with this beautiful wallpaper-like print. It's giving me Bridgerton vibes, so I played up that look by wearing the top with a traditional pearl necklace. The shirred bodice is so comfortable and stretchy, while the more voluminous sleeves give this top some drama. All in all, it's a fantastic top that will instantly dress up your jeans."—Erin Fitzpatrick, senior news editor
"If the name didn't give it away, this is my favorite dress. I mean, look at the details. The smocked bodice! The neckline! How about the print? It's just extra special all around. It's the type of dress that you can enjoy any time of year, which I'm all about. I'll be wearing it all season long with my cowboy boots (if you spot me wearing the same 'fit multiple times a week, no you didn't), and when it's time to retire those, I'll swap them for a fun pair of sandals. Consider it the dress you didn't know you needed until now."—Caitie Schlisserman, beauty director, branded content
Bodice Details
"I'm a true sucker for anything green, and this dress is no exception. The cut is really sophisticated but the length makes it fun to experiment with shoes. I styled it with chunky loafers to give it some more edge but would totally style some boots with it too. Really just depends on the occasion."—Schlisserman
Gathered Details
"The fabric of this top feels so sumptuous—it's a little silky, a little bit like suede. It just feels so expensive on, which makes it stand out compared to other basic black tops. And I love the easy-breezy loose fit, too, because it's so comfortable to wear. I think it looks great paired with jeans for a more elevated option when it comes to a jeans-and-a-tee combo." — Yang
Go-Anywhere Tops
"I'm obsessed with this top because it's one of those things I can easily dress up or down. I can see it paired with a fun silky midi skirt and heels but also with jeans and boots. And it snatches you in all the right places, which is always a win."—Dominguez
