I Trust the Pros, so I Asked Celebrity Stylist Maeve Reilly What's Good
I've spent about two months now building out my winter wardrobe. As I grazed through my clothing rack the other day, though, I thought to myself, Hmm, it just feels like something is missing. I felt like I had all the winter must-haves in order, so to figure out what was lacking, I got to texting a few friends. Everyone's personal style is different, so their must-haves must be too, right? I was indeed correct. There's no one answer to the question, and I realized it was time to call in one of the professionals I know and love to find out what items are essential for our closets right now.
Celebrity stylist Maeve Reilly knows winter style. Growing up in New York with a love for fashion, she spent years shifting her wardrobe throughout all four seasons. Now having moved to Los Angeles, she hasn't let the change of weather get to her. While L.A. stays pretty balmy all winter long, she still fully channels winter energy when the time arrives. Her clients, including Megan Fox, The Chainsmokers and Lori Harvey, are following suit. Turns out you can still wear beanies and coats no matter where you live. I'll definitely need them for this particularly tough New York winter I'm experiencing. Scroll down to find the pieces you need to survive the rest of this winter.
1. A Good Sweatsuit
"If you know me, you know that I live in my sweatsuits all year long, and a cozy, oversize matching sweatsuit hits different in the winter. I've been rotating my Local Love Club sweatsuits every day of winter so far." — Reilly

The padded shoulders are everything.
2. A Long Leather Trench
"A leather trench can take you far in the winter. It's a statement piece that can take a look from day to night. I love pairing it with denim and a T-shirt for a casual feel or dressing it up with a minidress and heels." — Reilly
Shop:
3. Leather Pants
"Leather pants are always a winter classic because they can be worn in so many ways. For winter nights out, I wear them with a crop top and an oversize coat, and I am only mildly freezing. For more practical dressers, you can pair them with an oversize sweater and a trench." — Reilly
Shop:
Reilly is obsessed with this color and for good reason.
4. My Favorite Beanie
"Who doesn't want to wake up on a cold winter day and put a beanie on? Not only are beanies actually warm, but they give off a cool, effortless vibe that we all want to channel at times. I've been loving my Hommebody one these days." — Reilly
Shop:
If you haven't found out why fashion editors love Totême, you'll know what we mean once you order this beanie.
5. A Cropped Puffer
"A good puffer jacket is definitely a more underrated necessity for winter. I love a cropped puffer in a fun color layered with a muted outfit. The crop gives you a great shape, and the bright color gives you a good contrast." — Reilly
Shop:
Buttery hues always win me over.
6. This Season's Statement Sweater
"I've been loving the vibe of a statement sweater recently, and they're perfect for the cold winter months. Go for a loose cable-knit pullover with a fun color or pattern, and pair it with your Levi's and sneakers, and you're good to go." — Reilly
Shop:
Reilly and Hailey Bieber had a call about how amazing these Stine Goya checkered sweaters are.
While we're on the topic of winter must-haves, I can't stop wearing this one loungewear set.
