It's Already 2024 at Zara—7 Next-Year Trends I'm Buying Way Early
I knew Zara moved fast when it came to trends, but I never knew it moved this fast. After scrolling through the Spanish fashion brand's latest arrivals, opening what could possibly have amounted to 100 tabs in my browser, I noticed something. The selection wasn't touching on trends from this year, but rather, the retailer's virtual shelves were already fully stocked with all of the trends we've been predicting to make it big next year. Apparently, the next 10 days don't matter. At Zara, it's already 2024.
In the same manner that we do, clearly Zara's design team has been busy studying the chicest moments from the runways and scouring the social feeds of fashion's best trend predictors to get ahead on the trends that are to come post New Year's Eve. And while I'm all for living in the moment, in this case, I'm not mad about the head start I can now get on my 2024 wardrobe at a price that's hard to beat. Scroll down to get to grips with next year's biggest trends, all of which are currently in stock and ready to shop at Zara.
Velvet
From Alaïa to Saint Laurent, every on-the-tip-of-your-tongue fashion brand is placing big bets on velvet for the year ahead, with the industry's infatuation with '80s trends spurring the fad. I know, I know, it's the holiday season—of course velvet is popping up at Zara. But unlike in years past, the velvet goods aren't going to disappear on January 1. Instead, prepare to see lots of soft, luscious pieces for months and months to come.

Halters
Next spring, when winter weather departs and a warm breeze arrives just when we need it most, the first article of business will be pulling out all of the halter tops and dresses we stocked up on at Zara back in 2023 for that exact moment. You'll thank me then.

Stiletto Boots
I've been trying to push this boot trend for months, but until recently, I haven't seen it really gain any traction. But now that it's on Zara's radar, I'm expecting a major surge in interest for '90s-era stiletto boots, from knee-high to ankle styles, in the 365 days ahead. Just you wait.

Heavy Satin
I wouldn't exactly consider standard-issue satin to be a trend per se. It's more of a staple at this point, from blouses to slip skirts. I wouldn't say the same for heavy, duchesse satin, which has only recently started to make headlines thanks to brands like Tory Burch, Sportmax, Louis Vuitton, Altuzarra, Carven, and more and the ways each of their creative directors incorporated the lavish fabric into their S/S 24 collections. But there's no reason to wait until spring to start building your own curation of satin pieces for 2024. Zara's got you covered.

Lace
In 2024, romance is alive and well, maybe not always in your personal life but certainly in your closet. That's because Zara and I are predicting a major increase in demand for sexy yet sophisticated takes on lace, with sheer, lingerie-like garments and accessories taking over following a big splash on the S/S 24 runways, where the trend was seen at Gucci, Coperni, and more hot-ticket shows.

Knot Details
Knotted details littered the S/S 24 runways, showing up at Bottega Veneta, Brandon Maxwell, Proenza Schouler, and JW Anderson. And those are just the highlights. Now, they're equally present in Zara's new-arrivals section, made of cashmere and wool and ready to be worn immediately upon 2024 beginning.

Translucence
Another budding 2024 trend is translucence, the sophisticated big sister of completely sheer fashion, which, as chic as it can be, isn't exactly wearable for everyone. Next year, expect to see more organza and mesh in more covered-up ways that give the illusion of complete transparency without the risqué nature of it.
