Leopard Is Stylish, But I’d Argue This Alternative Print Makes You Stand Out Even More

It's fair to say that leopard print has dominated style scenes in 2024 and is set to continue to do so for the rest of the year. Saturating runways and quickly making its way into stores, the much-loved print trend officially reached new heights this year. Perhaps owing to its popularity, we're now seeing an entire safari of animal prints being explored, and one is rising to prominence this autumn: zebra print.

Okay, zebra print in fashion is not necessarily new, but in the past few months, we've seen several strong stripe references that have made us that it's about to trot into leopard print's first-place position. Before you're quick to defend the big cat and rule out the zebra entirely, let's discuss the A/W 24 runways. Jacquemus championed the growing trend by showcasing several zebra-print pieces including the editor-favourite Caruso Coat (£2255), amongst Bermuda shorts, pencil skirts and clutch bags. Meanwhile, Ellie Sabb's pre-fall collection included voluminous zebra print gowns and Roberto Cavalli nodded to the trend in its S/S 25 collection.

Animal prints make a comeback every few years, but right now is almost certainly zebra's time to shine. A little less saturated than the leopard-print trend that reached mass appeal this year, the zebra motif is still on its ascent and will make you stand out by proxy. If a head-to-toe look feels a little wild, you can nod to the trend with a subtle bag or shoe (as subtle as monochromatic stripes can be, at least), or go all out and shop a zebra-print dress or coat this season.

Style Notes: If you're a print sceptic, the easiest way to wear the trend is with a column dress. This Realisation Par style is the one that launched a thousand copies.

Style Notes: Swap black wide-leg trousers for a zebra-print pair. They're the perfect accompaniment to a white tank top.
