Olivia Dean's Beauty Looks Are Peak Rom-Com Realness: 9 Moments That Made Us Fall in Love
This singer-songwriter's dreamy makeup is all we can think about.
Some singers sound like they belong on the soundtrack of a 2000s rom-com (giving voice to nostalgic characters like Bridget Jones), while others embrace an aesthetic on- and off- the red carpet that looks as if they just stepped out of one. It just so happens that 26-year-old singer-songwriter Olivia Dean is both. The intimacy and warmth of her sound are drenched in nostalgia, and she has a playful, personal style that matches. Her makeup, too, is worth falling head over heels for.
In celebration of the London-based artist receiving her first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist (the first of what we predict will be followed by many more), we're rounding up some of her best beauty moments from star-studded fashion shows and movie premiere red carpets to fashion month parties and more.
Matte Minimalism
Time and Place: Attending the Valentino spring/summer 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week, October 2024
When Dean posed for the cameras outside a Valentino fashion show in October 2023, she wore a stunning purple, sequined dress by the designer, featuring delicate floral details from its A-line hem to the scoop neckline. Her makeup look—created with cool tones to subtly offset the vibrancy of the eye-catching jewel tones—featured matte eye shadow shades. A warm brown shade was swept across the lid and blended out at the corners into a beige. The addition of a smoky gray adds dimension to the tastefully minimalist eye look.

'70s Revival
Time and Place: Attending the Perfect Magazine and AMI Paris London Fashion Week Party during London Fashion Week, February 2024
Dean was photographed at a London Fashion Week Party wearing a disco-inspired look reminiscent of the playful sequined outfits worn by another singer-songwriter with high-volume tresses: Donna Summer. This time, Dean opted for a glowing complexion complemented by her signature strong brows, glossy pink lips, and rose-toned shimmering eye shadow that resembles romantic candlelight. You can bet we're already planning when and where we'll be wearing this look for our next fashion-filled fête.

Bronzed Touches
Time and Place: Attending the Chanel fall/winter 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week, March 2024
With her curls pulled back into a sleek updo finished off with a bow, we can give this makeup look all the flowers it deserves. She made her appearance at Chanel's fall/winter 2024 show with bronzed skin (the result of an illuminating bronzer placed on her forehead, cheeks, and nose), berry-toned lips, flushed cheeks, and full brows to frame the entire masterpiece. While it was her complexion that took center stage, Dean's simple yet cheeky eye look also stands out with sleek liner and a flirty lash.

Fresh and Flushed
Time and Place: Attending the Chanel Haute Couture fall/winter 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week, June 2024
While the songstress looks as if she's stepped out of a Parisian fairytale with bronzed skin, the dewy makeup look Dean was photographed wearing at Chanel's Haute Couture show currently lives rent-free in our minds. It was created by London-based makeup artist Emily Engleman, and it consisted of a fresh base (aka glass skin), natural-looking flushed cheeks, and pink, pouty lips to match. The look pairs beautifully with her classic Chanel suit.

The Mahogany Moment
Time and Place: Attending the Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy premiere at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, London, January 2025
In case you missed it, Dean's song "It Isn't Perfect But It Might Be" was featured on the soundtrack of the newest installation of Bridget Jones, and it went viral in the months following the movie's release. For the movie's premiere, Dean stepped in front of the cameras wearing The Own Studio's The Curve Between the Line dress in black and sky-high pumps styled by Simone Beyene. Dean's makeup, also by Engleman, features full, fluffy brows, glossy mahogany lips, and a pearlescent highlighter to put her cheekbones on display.

A Dewy Complexion
Time and Place: Attending the Miu Miu RTW show during Paris Fashion Week, October 2024
Speaking of dewy complexions, we can't miss Olivia Dean's fresh makeup look she wore to sit at the Miu Miu Ready-to-Wear show last October. Once again, the singer wore her hair pulled back (this time into a sleek ponytail), showing off a glowy, no-makeup makeup look that's owned our Pinterest boards since it first appeared on our FYPs years ago. It's a modern take on the natural looks we've been gushing over for a while now with an unexpected twist. Plus, how chic is the single finger wave falling above her groomed brows?

Peachy Keen
Time and Place: Attending the 2025 Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon, July 2025
The 2025 Pantone Color of the Year might be Mocha Mouse (Pantone 17-1230), but this summer saw a sudden resurgence of youthful, peach-toned makeup. She wore the trend at the Wimbledon Championships in a butter yellow AYM Studio dress and '90s-inspired, tortoiseshell print shades. Her makeup look, which was created by Deanna Melluso, balances a peachy flush to the cheeks with equally peach-toned lips and full brows. It's fresh, flirty, and the perfect match for a day of tennis.

Toasted Beauty
Time and Place: Attending the Burberry spring/summer 2026 show during London Fashion Week, September 2025
Fall might be reaching its conclusion, but we can't get enough of one of the season's biggest beauty trends: toasty makeup. While attending the Burberry S/S 2026 show, Dean was photographed wearing this warm-toned makeup look by Aimee Twist featuring red-brown blush dusted on the cheeks, nose, and temples, wispy lashes, and brown, defined lips. The look is a master class in how to accomplish a soft, effortless glow with the help of a few game-changing products.

Frosted Details
Time and Place: Attending the 2025 CFDA Awards at the American Museum of Natural History, New York City, November 2025
That brings us to the gorgeous, pink-toned makeup look Dean wore to the 2025 CFDA Awards at the American Museum of Natural History, created for her by Twist. For the eyes, her makeup artist opted for a shimmering blush shade paired with long, defined lashes. As with several of Dean's other best makeup looks, this one includes a pink flush to the cheeks, a matte lip, and fluffy arched brows. What we love the most about this makeup look, however, is that her natural skin (freckles and all) shines through.
