Editors and Stylists Agree: Your Hair Routine Is Missing These 6 Products

When it comes to self-care, I often put my hair routine on the back burner. I'll gladly partake in a lengthy skincare routine or sit at the salon for two hours getting the perfect top coat on my nails, but extensive hair maintenance is unfortunately where I draw the line. I resort to my signature slicked-back bun and keep my wash-day routine as minimal as it gets. I spent the last 15 years chemically straightening my hair with relaxers, and my hair still has residual damage, so in 2024, I'm committed to making healthy hair a priority.
Kérastase is the brand everyone is raving about (ahem, Sydney Sweeney), and if you're anything like me, your hair is in desperate need of some extra TLC to repair damage from dye or chemical treatments. The brand's new Première line is a collection of six products with citric acid and glycine that work to remove calcium buildup while repairing damaged hair. So prepare for your hair to do a complete 180 after using this line of products. If you've decided that stronger hair is in, explore this collection below.
Not-so-fun fact: The calcium in our shower water can make our hair dull and stiff, and it can amplify existing hair damage. (I know—I'm shocked too.) Apply this Pre-Shampoo Treatment to damp hair, and leave it on for five minutes. Layer the Repairing Shampoo directly on top to help remove calcium buildup and repair damage to achieve the best results.
Just like skincare, layer the Repairing Shampoo on top of the Pre-Shampoo treatment. Massage, emulsify, and rinse.
Finally, a lightweight conditioner that can do it all. It will restore hydration, reduce rigidity, strengthen, smooth, and add shine.
Pro tip: Leave it on for three to five minutes before rinsing.
I always skipped the hair-mask stage of wash day until now. I mean, who doesn't want to reduce the appearance of split ends and be able to run their fingers through their hair without running into knots? I'm adding 10 minutes of this hair mask to my routine, applying it from mid-length to ends and wrapping my hair in a warm towel before rinsing.
PS: If you want extra nourishment, use this mask in place of conditioner.
I typically dread the warmer months when humidity and frizz take over, but this serum acts as a repellent, locking in moisture to tame frizz. It also protects against heat up to 450°, a major win for people who curl and straighten their hair regularly.
The goal has always been endless shine. Use one or two full pipettes on dry or damp hair, and heat-style as needed.
