I've Spent the Last Year Transfixed by Demi Moore's Skin—10 Products and Secrets I've Sleuthed So Far
Am I the only one who is endlessly fascinated by celebrity skincare routines? Trust me. I know they can afford the best facials and longevity treatments money can buy, but if I've learned anything as a beauty editor, it's that your daily habits count just as much when it comes to skincare. One such celeb I've been completely transfixed by lately is Demi Moore. TBH, I've always loved the 63-year-old icon, but lately, her glow has been extra noticeable.
Case in point? Her role in The Substance. That might sound ironic considering that movie shows body horror galore, but the whole time I watched it, I truly could not stop wondering what she's using on her skin for it to look that airbrushed and flawless. Her more recent project Landman provides extra confirmation: She has some kind of secret that I need to be in on. Of course, that prompted me to do some sleuthing. What I found is that Moore loves buzzy ingredients, like epidermal growth factors and copper peptides, to keep her skin extra flawless. If you've also found yourself mesmerized by Moore and her poreless skin, take a look below at what else I discovered about her sensitive skin friendly routine.
Like myself, Moore described her skin as sensitive when she broke down her complete evening skincare routine in a video for Harper's Bazaar once. She says this OG makeup-removing cloth has "saved her skin." She also describes it as magic when it comes to fully removing SPF, foundation, and even eye makeup. TBH, I'm influenced. There is nothing worse than doing a double cleanse, only to realize some of your makeup is still on your face.
She can't use anything with harsh ingredients or fragrances, and her skin will let her know when it's unhappy. That said, she loves this luxurious cleansing elixir from Retrouvé most days. It has more of a balm-like texture that hydrates and nourishes the skin with high-quality plant-based ingredients.
I experienced this cleanser myself for the first time during a facial, and it feels gorgeous on the skin. It hydrates deeply but still effectively removes dirt, sunscreen, and congestion. I definitely understand why it has earned a spot in Moore's coveted routine.
When she needs a water-based cleanser, Moore swears by this classic formula from Cosmedix. Both her and I share a love for this brand. In fact, it's one of my favorite brands on the market. The formulas are elegant and aesthetician backed. They also keep your skin glowing, hydrated, and healthy at a pretty good price point for how high-quality the ingredients are.
Moore is a huge fan of skincare ingredients like copper peptides. In the video, she says this serum, in particular, makes your skin feel tighter and more alive—great ways to describe the glow-enhancing benefits you can receive when using them. Copper peptides support the skin's natural production of collagen, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Anyone looking to seriously step up their skincare game should give them a shot.
I should have known Moore was a Biologique Recherche fan—so many celebs swear by the luxury French brand. She says this purifying face cream from Biologique is a staple for her. It mattifies the skin and helps kill acne-causing bacteria while minimizing the appearance of pores, blemishes, and blackheads.
I used to use this cream religiously and only stopped because it was pricey (lol). If you're looking for serious help with breakout-prone skin, though, it's totally worth the money.
Another moisturizer Moore keeps in her rotation is Retrouvé's Intensive Replenishing Facial Moisturizer. This cream is rich in diverse active ingredients that give the skin a subtle radiance. It's a great moisturizer for those with dry skin, but it works equally great for all other skin types.
I regret to report that Moore also loves this eye-wateringly expensive BR formula. However, when she shared her routine, she used a much smaller-sized jar than this one, so I think it's safe to assume even Moore is a little averse to buying a $750 jar of face cream. Although the price is high, it's warranted. It's an innovative formula that utilizes what the brand calls EpigenActiv technology. This helps enable ultimate and visible skin regeneration, improving collagen and elastin levels. It also has a lifting and restructuring effect on the skin.
The move might be to take a leaf out of Moore's book here. Get your hands on a sample jar and combine it with other creams if your skin handles that well.
She uses this vitamin-rich oil as a final step in her skincare routine to lock everything in. It contains redness-calming arnica oil (which Lady Gaga is famously a fan of), calendula, rose hip, and starflower, a plant known for calming and plumping skin.
"When you're over 50 and you feel like your skin is hitting the floor, this actually is an incredible uplift," Moore says of this gorgeous gua sha tool from Georgia Louise. It's comprised of rose quartz and helps de-puff the skin while promoting lymphatic drainage. It also contours and lifts and can be used to relieve stress around the jaw and cheeks—just as Moore described.
I've never been huge on using a gua sha tool, as I prefer to do facial massage with my hands every morning, but this tool is so adorable Moore just might have convinced me to try it.
Moore's makeup artist Mary Wiles told New Beauty she loves this epidermal growth factor serum from BioEffect, which boasts a pure seven-ingredient formula with skin-rejuvenating protein that supports skin's natural collagen production. It also boosts hydration, keeping skin extra glowy.
