The Summer I Turned Pretty in Paris Has Me Inspired—14 Beauty and Home Items on My Fall Mood Board
Nothing says bummer quite like your favorite show closing in on its very last episode. Even though I'm a fully grown woman in her 30s, I have to admit that the teen drama The Summer I Turned Pretty is at the top of my "shows I'm really going to miss" list. While it's undoubtedly my *summer* show, I've found myself more and more enthralled by the fall and winter atmosphere it's brought to the table lately as Belly's romantic entanglement with the Fisher brothers comes to a conclusion.
As the last few episodes have shown, there's still a lot for our girl Belly to navigate since she decided to move to Paris on a whim (major points for spontaneity). Belly's time there is opening up a whole new world for her. She's finally found a place where she can discover who she is without her family and the Fishers to lean on. I'm 100% rooting for her on her journey of self-discovery, and I have to admit I'm a little jealous. She's basically living my ultimate Parisian fantasy.
The show is really leaning into the cozy sweater weather and mulled wine aesthetic as Belly moves through the colder months in France, and of course, I found so many little things here and there to add to my fall mood board. I couldn't resist putting together a list of my fantasy Paris apartment items inspired by Belly's new chapter. If you share my "Paris in fall" obsession, keep scrolling. I'm sharing all the beauty and home items that match the aesthetic.
Belly's Paris apartment may be filled with too many roommates, but you can't deny that it still has that Parisian charm. As soon as I saw her space, I immediately pictured myself burning this warm floral candle with notes of jasmine, dark plum, and vanilla flower.
Before Belly went to Paris, she never really wore a bold lip color, but during the holidays, I noticed her wearing some gorgeous shades of red and deep pink that immediately went on my inspo board. I don't usually wear bold colors myself, but these Buxom glosses are right up my alley. They're the perfect shimmery shades that aren't over-the-top.
Violette_FR is one of my favorite French makeup brands. This blush is to die for because it's so pigmented but still blends seamlessly into the skin. Next on my wish list to try from the brand is Plume Lip—a matte lipstick that somehow magically has a gel-cream texture.
I use L'Occitane products whenever I want to add a little more luxury to my routine. The hand cream is a classic favorite, but this shower oil is perfect for the fall and winter. This silky-sweet almond oil and grape-seed oil rich product nourishes and softens skin but also acts as a body cleanser. It's great for all the lazy folks out there (ahem, me) who can't be bothered with a separate body cleanser and hydrator.
Faux-fur throw pillows are just too cute. The whole time Belly was sitting on the couch in her Paris apartment, all I could think was that it was missing a few of these babies. These are only faux-fur covers, but you can definitely find some inexpensive throw pillows to put inside.
My Paris apartment aesthetic would never be complete without at least one Diptyque item. I have a few of Diptyque's beautifully crafted perfumes but have yet to try this floral offering just yet. Notes of orange blossom, angelica root, patchouli, and juniper berry give it an indulgent fruity-floral aroma that I know I'd want to spray endlessly around my home.
Embryolisse cream is such a beloved French moisturizer that makeup artists always swear by. My skin is super sensitive and reactive, but luckily, Embryolisse makes a version just for my skin type! If I were living in France, I'd be stocking up on this cream weekly.
The amount of De'Longhi espresso machines that were spotted on The Summer I Turned Pretty is unreal. The brand's Dinamica Plus Machine ($1700) was spotted in Jeremiah's dorm room and his dad Adam's loft. While that machine is guaranteed to be a winner, like our girl Belly, I'm on a bit more of a budget. The brand's Dedica Duo Compact Machine is equally as great and honestly, I'm just a sucker for anything pink. Besides, my dream 'Paris during fall' aesthetic just isn't complete without my morning salted honey latte.
Trust me when I say a Lola blanket is the softest thing you will ever feel in your life. I know the price tag is steep, but I'm so obsessed and this deep violet color from the fall collection is calling my name. My fantasy Paris apartment wouldn't be complete without it. And if you have pets, be prepared. I can guarantee they will hog it.
I know $98 seems outrageous for a brush, but hear me out. I truly think this French hairbrush brand is one of the best on the market. I've hd one for a couple years now and it's the best brush I own, hands-down. It smooths frizz and flyaways in a flash, mkes your hair feel silky soft, and never catches on my thick, curly hair.
