There are certain trends that come back every summer like clockwork, including gingham, denim cutoffs, and printed sundresses. But perhaps my favorite of all the warm-weather trends is crochet. The look is just begging you to wear it on all of your vacations and will work whether you plan to be beachside, strolling the city, or just taking outfit pic in your backyard.

As you might imagine, Free People has cornered the market when it comes to the crochet trend. I noticed the brand has an entire line it calls Fauxchet. "Inspired by the beach bag-essential cover-ups, our Fauxchet line uses a machine-knit twist on the crochet styles you know and love," Free People explained on its website. "Made with 100% cotton yarn, this method stays true to the hand-knit sensibility of crochet by incorporating a beautiful touch of texture pattern to your beachy outfitting—and can take you just about anywhere!" Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
