The Random Designer Item You're Not Buying (But Should)

I don't know about you, but when I'm looking to treat myself to a designer item, there are a few accessories I make a beeline to. Handbags, for one, and the selection of sunglasses are almost always what you'll find the tabs on my web browser open to. But this season especially, there's another designer accessory that's been capturing my attention more than it typically does: tights. They tend to pop around this time of year regardless, but for some reason, the tights from designers in the past few years are especially noteworthy, and they're making me look at hosiery in a completely new light.

There were plenty of exciting runway moments that featured tights prominently. Brightly saturated hues were a big theme, as seen in Versace's pink logo tights and Ganni's kelly-green pair that was seemingly made with Instagram in mind. Meanwhile, Fendi cemented the timelessness of logo tights, and Mugler ushered in a new era of tights as artwork. The fashion crowd has been busy styling these fresh pairs in the coolest winter ensembles, so to get your download on the best designer tights to see and shop right now, just keep scrolling.

Tights might usually be an afterthought, but Versace's monochromatic styling makes the cold-weather accessory feel quite intentional.

In its F/W 21 collection, Fendi swapped its large-font logo tights for a more delicate double-F design.

Mugler's paneled tights are a work of art in their own right, giving off the illusion of negative space.

Style Notes: Let a pair of logo tights speak for themselves when you wear them with plain basics like a blazer and knee boots.

Style Notes: While designer logo tights are always a fashion-crowd favorite, tights with pretty and delicate details like ties and embellishments are gaining steam.

Style Notes: Candy-hued tights have a playfulness to them, so lean into the vibe by styling them with a pair of platforms.

Style Notes: Color-blocking with a pair of brightly hued tights instead of pants or a skirt feels particularly innovative.

Style Notes: Not all designer tights are covered with logos. Graphic-printed tights are on the rise, and fashion's early adopters are already all over the bold look.

Style Notes: When it comes to designer tights, Gucci's logo pair pretty much takes the cake.

Style Notes: Printed tights with a subdued color palette are a unique way to add some dimension to your cold-weather ensembles.
