My 56-Year-Old Mom Is Obsessed With Loungewear—These Are Her Favorite Brands
Fun fact: My mom has had a strong appreciation for chic and cozy loungewear since way before loungewear was cool. That's right. For as long as I can remember, she's spent her at-home time in relaxed sets, pretty robes, comfortable separates, and more while the rest of us tried to prove a point in jeans. Of course, decades of this have not only left her with quite the loungewear collection but a trove of knowledge about the rapidly growing market too. Her intel even eclipses that of her fashion-editor daughter (aka me).
So with this in mind as well as the recent uptick in interest on the topic from pretty much everyone I know, I figured it would be a good time to tap Mom for some of her favorite brands. From the T-shirts she loves to her favorite slippers to the sweatsuits she lives in, just keep scrolling to see, read about, and shop her go-tos for dressing comfortably at home.
Gap
According to my mom, Gap has the "softest everything," including long-sleeves, sweatshirts, pants, and pajamas.
Cotton Citizen
Ever since my siblings and I convinced (or perhaps forced) my mom to trade in her old but beloved Juicy Couture tracksuits for Cotton Citizen's, she's been living in them at home, for going out on errands, and while traveling.
Natori
You probably already love Natori for its highly reviewed bras, but did you know the brand makes great robes, too? That's what my mom says, at least.
Theory
For those looking to invest in some pieces for the long haul, Theory's separates and matching sets are a favorite, too.
Ugg
Like me, my mom turns to Ugg for house slippers that are as cute as they are comfortable.
Topshop
Apparently, while recently shopping at Nordstrom, my mom discovered that Topshop's pajama and lounge sets are a great buy in terms of both price and quality.
Zara
When she needs to stock up on new tees and tanks for wearing at home or out, Zara is her go-to.
Lululemon
Lastly, like a lot of other moms, mine loves lounging in a good pair of Lululemon leggings.
Next: everything I'd buy from Zara for spring.
