There are lots of fun and exciting components of being a beauty editor, but as much as we love sitting at our desks and swatching Wholesale Replica Bag and greatest to hit our beauty closet, there's definitely more action during our day-to-day work. A while ago, my former beauty-editor colleague Courtney Higgs and I were detailing the most important beauty trends, products, and brands of the previous quarter, and we put together a pretty interesting list of the top 20 best-selling skincare brands, ranked.

What to Look For in Your Skincare

It's no secret that before making any major skincare purchase, WWW's beauty editors look to the experts for the scoop on the skincare products that absolutely deserve the hype. To pinpoint a few standout brands, we reached out to aesthetician Ian Michael Crumm and facialist Gina Marí, both of whom regularly work with celebrity clientele. For anyone embarking on a skincare journey, Crumm recommends focusing on an effective cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. "There are tons of products on the market, and it's easy to get confused when starting out," explains Crumm. "If you don't have a routine, start by introducing a gentle facial cleanser, a simple moisturizer, and a sunscreen that blends well into your skin for daily use."

Skin type plays a role in determining the best products for the job. For dry skin, Crumm suggests adding hydration through gentle products that contain plumping and conditioning ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides. As an aesthetician, Crumm gravitates toward a couple of best-selling brands, including Restore by Doctor Rogers and Goldfaden MD. Similarly, Marí emphasizes cleansers, toners, moisturizers, and sunscreen as essential components of a well-rounded skincare routine. "The beauty industry can be overwhelming, especially when looking at social media, so I encourage everyone to keep it simple," says Marí. For all skin types, she recommends incorporating a toner to restore your skin's pH balance immediately. Her holy-grail skincare brand? Goldfaden MD.

What We Considered When Determining the Best Products

As skincare-obsessed beauty editors, our interest was piqued to see which brands WWW readers are hoarding and loving. We immediately started to discuss our favorite brands from the list, the cult-favorite products we love (plus some that we don't), what brands didn't make the list, and so on and so forth.

Inspired by these conversations, we transformed them into a guide featuring the top 20 skincare brands that our readers cherish. In this guide, Courtney and I each share the one (yes, only one!) product we would personally purchase from each brand.

Beauty Director

Erin has been writing a mix of beauty and wellness content forBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing for over four years. Prior to that, she spent two and half years writing for Byrdie. She now calls Santa Monica home but grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and studied writing, rhetoric, and communication at University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. She studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, and spent a summer in L.A. interning with the Byrdie andBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing family. After graduating from UW, she spent one year in San Francisco, where she worked as a writer for Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen before moving down to L.A. to begin her career as a beauty editor. She considers her day-to-day beauty aesthetic very low-maintenance and relies on staples like clear brow serum (from Kimiko!), Lawless's Lip Plumping Mask in Cherry Vanilla, and an eyelash curler. For special occasions or days when she's taking more meetings or has an event, she'll wear anything and everything from Charlotte Tilbury (the foundations are game-changing), some shimmer on her lids (Stila and Róen do it best), and a few coats of the best mascara-type product on earth, Surratt's Noir Lash Tint.
