Though I grew up in Arizona and called Los Angeles home for the better part of my adult life, I recently moved to New York City and have encountered snow for the first time in several years. Beyond that, I recently took a ski trip in Aspen, and the occasion called for proper snow shoe attire. I still consider myself a novice, so I employed the recommendations of my colleagues and local NYC residents who are more accustomed to the weather to steer me in the right direction for great snow boots that checked the boxes of both practical and fashion forward.

The recommendations I received—and styles I researched—ran the gamut of affordable and practical to luxe and also weather-appropriate. Ahead, see my short list of styles I would personally add to your winter wardrobe. Top contenders include the Loro Piana Regent boots and the Toteme Off-Duty boots as well as the L.L.Bean Insulated boots and Moon Boot’s Icon boots. Ahead, shop my snow-boot edit.
