Do you hear that faint noise in the distance? It's the imminent sound of our shoes going "clickety-clack" as we step into fall. For me, nothing else embodies fall quite like slipping into a pair of statement boots—it's basically the metaphorical starting bell for the start of the new season. But which footwear is actually worth bringing off the bench for fall? Look no further than thigh-high boots. Hear me out: there's no other boot trend that's going to go up in popularity this season (excuse the pun). While I'd admit that thigh-high boots are not the easiest trend to style (compared to ankle booties or even knee-high boots), that didn't deter designers from embracing them throughout their fall/winter 2024 collections.

From slouchy suede tall boots at Chloé to burgundy-red boots at Gucci, there was no shortage of examples of taller boot silhouettes this season. With so many examples of how to wear thigh-high boots shown on the runway, my hunch is that this style will become the most popular style for the rest of the year. However, if you're not convinced that thigh-high boots are that trend, keep reading. With only a few weeks until fall, I figured I'd round up examples of this footwear trend on the runways to soundproof my argument. Plus, I've curated a selection of the 24 best thigh-high boots based on reviews, quality, versatility, brand recognition, and recent trends—just in case you're ready to embrace this trend. If the idea of thigh-high boots used to scare you, prepare to change your tune.
