I Just Got Back From NYC—6 Trendy Fall Outfits Every Cool Girl Is Wearing RN

I just took a trip to NYC, and let me tell you how inspiring it was to see some fresh outfits IRL. Sure, I get to see plenty of cool fashion moments on the streets in L.A., but New Yorkers bring a different perspective to trends that always leaves me wanting to test-drive them for myself.

In particular, when I grabbed lunch with senior editor Nicole Eshaghpour in SoHo, while sitting at a sidewalk cafe, we noticed a steady stream of cool looks passing by. The outfits were heavy on TikTok trends, including pieces like low-rise baggy jeans and cutouts, as well as directional basics such as cowboy boots and vest tops. We're also 99% sure we even saw Katie Holmes walking by wearing a pair of JW Anderson chain-detail slides. Long story short, there was so much fashion to take in, and I just need to discuss it. Ahead, see seven of the best trendy fall outfit ideas I spotted on the streets of NYC and shop each of the looks.

Cowboy boots are one of those trends I'm never sure I'm ready for, but now, I somehow feel ready for them. I think it comes down to the way I'm seeing them styled, which mostly revolves around Princess Diana inspired looks like this that were all over the streets of NYC.

If you read our stories regularly, you probably know that I won't stop talking about slouchy trousers. I've been styling mine with simple pieces like tanks and button-downs, but the streets of New York have me inspired to wear them with structure corset tops. I always love the balance of proportions like this.

I'm convinced that low-rise baggy jeans with a crop top is the unofficial uniform in New York right now. I spotted this particular outfit formula everywhere from SoHo to the Upper East Side, so I'm convinced that it is.
