Expecting Mothers Love These Everyday Pieces
Pregnancy is a beautiful and joyous occasion for any growing family. However, aside from the celebratory occasions, it’s safe to say that most soon-to-be parents simply want to be comfortable and well-rested. And with the warmer weather quickly approaching, you’ll probably be needing some casual maternity outfits to make getting dressed quick and easy.
To get the best style advice for you and your changing body, we asked Louise Roe, who recently gave birth to her daughter earlier this year. See how Roe styled herself during pregnancy and the advice she has for expecting mothers.
“Mastering your maternity style can be tough, especially for a first-time mom. You’re learning what works best for your new body and can often feel self-conscious when choosing items for your ever-changing shape,” she shares. Roe explains that while she didn’t buy too many maternity-specific clothes for her pregnancy, she did have a few foolproof pieces in her closet. “Maternity jeans—my trusty Madewell maternity jeans were a lifesaver in my third trimester,” she says. Roe also looked to long-fitting boyfriend tees and tunics, adding that the trick is to find tops from your pre-pregnancy days with stretch or length to cover your bump.
