Every Beauty Editor I Know Carries This Cult Lip Product in Their Bag

One thing you should know about beauty editors is that, somewhat surprisingly, we don’t tend to shout about the golden-oldie products that we use day in and day out. You see, some products are just so good that they become totally ingrained in our routines. When we’re asked for recommendations, our brains go into overdrive, and all too often, our fail-safe classics get forgotten about. One product in particular that always springs to mind whenever I consider this odd beauty-editor phenomenon is Dior Addict Lip Glow.

The truth is I can’t think of a single beauty-editor pal who doesn’t rely on the cult tinted lip balm as a handbag staple. Lip trends come and go, but Dior Addict Lip Glow is forever. While pigmented matte lipstick looks great and plumping glosses deliver the ultimate clean-girl look, it’s impossible to deny that lipsticks and glosses can be stupidly high-maintenance and messy. Dior Addict Lip Glow, however, makes for the perfect hybrid.

A subtly tinted balm that delivers a just-bitten wash to lips along with silky comfort and hydration, Lip Glow is basically every beauty editor’s everyday go-to. Available in pinky hues of varying intensities, the balms don’t make lips overly glossy or shiny, and they’re not too rich in pigment.

Instead, Lip Glow acts as the lip balm equivalent of no-makeup makeup—it leaves lips looking like your natural lips, just healthier and better thanks to the cherry oil infused waxy formula. The shades are also exquisite. Without being too rich, they leave behind a veil of colour that adapts to your lips’ natural moisture levels for a totally unique hue.

When I think about it, Dior Addict Lip Glow is quite possibly one of the most adored beauty products of all time amongst insiders. Beyond my beauty-editor friends, I also regularly spot it in the hands of models backstage at fashion week and know countless makeup artists who would never be without it in their kit bags.

All in all, I’d go as far as to say that Lip Glow is the ultimate beauty product. It elevates your lips in a way that remains subtle and comfortable, makes for the ultimate reach-for whenever your lips start feeling a little dry and is there to save your makeup whatever the occasion. And if you’re still not sold (£30 is a lot of money for a lip balm), I’d like for you to know that I have easily gone through more than 10 of these products in my lifetime. That’s £300 spent on just one product for my lips, and I don’t regret a single penny.
