Our Fashion Editor's May Wishlist Will Have You Reaching For Your Wallet
It’s Fashion Week Australia this month, and everyone knows what that means. It’s time for the best outfits to roll out, the accessories to stand out, and above all—comfortable shoes. The days are long (I’m talking 18 hour days), so giant heels just aren’t an option—no matter how much I love them. So how am I preparing for the most fashionable week of the year? I’m buying a fresh pair of jeans (ILY SO MUCH DENIM), flats that are so special I’ll forget I’m wearing flats, and bits and pieces that’ll make the outfits I already own and feel good in, even better.
Keep scrolling to see the pieces I’m adding to my wardrobe this month and why you should too (even if you won’t be visiting fashion week).
These shoulder-grazing tassel earrings are exactly what my Bassike jeans and tee need to make them look new (and like I haven't worn them every week for the past six years).
I've already added a black and khaki bomber to my autumn wardrobe, so this is the final piece to the puzzle. It's the perfect cover-up over a black slip dress.
My biggest fashion regret is not buying any of the crystal-drop accessories from Prada S/S 10. Since then, I spend my days collecting heavily embellished pieces and obsessively searching eBay. This will do until I find The One.

So it might not be a Gucci pyjama shirt, but it's close enough and will give the bottoms in my wardrobe a much needed update.
Look at that shape. It's completely different to everything I already own, and will feel like my wardrobe has had a revamp.
Confession: I'm obsessed with the colour mustard. So it makes no sense that I have no mustard pieces in my wardrobe. I'm fixing that right now with exaggerated flares, and I'll be wearing them with a slouchy cream knit.

I already know every (fashion) man and his dog has these leather slippers, but there has to be a reason why, right? They look good with EVERYTHING. Sold.
When the guy I share a bank account with discovers I've drained $910 for a shirt (weeks before we head on an overseas trip), I will no doubt have some explaining to do. BUT, it's Saint Laurent, and it's a classic. So I think I just made a pretty good case for it. Wearing this one with high-waist black jeans and this Acne Studios Leather Biker Jacket ($2200).
There's a voice in my head telling me that knee-length shorts are going to have a major moment. I'm getting in early, and I'll be wearing them with a blazer and heels so I still look professional.
