Female Funding

Since its founding in 2006, the Cartier Women's Initiative has supported female entrepreneurs from 66 countries and provided over $12 million in funding. This year, Cartier continued the mission by gathering hundreds of people in Osaka, Japan, to honor nine women, who will each receive a $100,000 grant to further support their businesses. They will also be offered a year-long fellowship program encompassing executive education at INSEAD and tailored business training, peer mentoring, and global visibility. The Impact Awards in Osaka also celebrated former fellows of the Cartier Women’s Initiative, whose ventures have achieved meaningful impact on society and the environment. A New Look

Longchamp has just unveiled its revamped SoHo flagship boutique at 132 Spring Street in New York City. British designer Thomas Heatherwick gave the store a bold new look, complete with vibrant green paint and matching swirly rugs. The designer also brought in a vintage 1970s croissant couch by Raphaël Raffel, curved furniture by Heatherwick Studio, a 1948 coffee table by Gio Ponti, bar stools by Erik Buch, and sculptural oak work by artist David Nash. The result is an inviting boutique that feels like home. See you there!

Italy Is Calling

Should you find yourself in Capri this summer (or beyond), you'll want to make a beeline for the new Giorgio Armani boutique at 63 Via Camerelle. It's been nearly four months since the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County, but Uniqlo has not forgotten. This week, the retailer announced the next phase of its fire relief efforts, which includes $1 million in monetary funding and up to $1 million in product donations. Uniqlo is partnering with five nonprofit organizations: Street Soccer USA, National Forest Foundation, Kidspace Children’s Museum, Southern California Children’s Museum, and the Pasadena Educational Foundation to "provide targeted aid, youth programming, environmental restoration, and educational resources with an aim to rebuild a sense of community in the fire-affected areas," according to a press release. Marseille to Melrose

Jacquemus has just opened its first Los Angeles boutique, and it's as chic as you'd expect. It's located on famed Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, and the store boasts vaulted ceilings, cheery yellow couches, and terra-cotta tiled floors. To celebrate the opening, designer Simon Porte Jacquemus hosted a cocktail party attended by Leighton Meester, Laura Harrier, Cole Sprouse, Lori Harvey, Anwar Hadid, and other stylish celebs and influencers. From April 24 to 27, the boutique is hosting a pop-up market with yellow flower bouquets and banana ice cream.

Fragrance Fanatics

I was an immediate fan of the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume when it first launched in 2007. Nearly two decades later, the collection continues to expand and attract new admirers. This month, the brand introduced Daisy Wild Eau So Intense, a delightful mix of banana blossom accord, jasmine extract, amber, and sandalwood. To celebrate the launch, Marc Jacobs threw a charming picnic party at the historic Virginia Robinson Gardens in Beverly Hills. Ever Anderson, Larsen Thompson, and other guests explored floral installations, sensory moments, and made personalized picnic baskets. How cute is that?

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 14 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2015, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Kate and Meghan stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible.
