I Own $400 Leggings, But the Under-$70 Pair That Kendall Jenner Loves Looks More Expensive
I finally got my hands on Adanola's leggings. Read my review and see how I styled them below.
Living in L.A., where activewear is the signature style, Angelenos like Kendall Jenner are often seen in legging outfits during their off-duty hours. These ensembles are not just casual, hastily assembled looks; they are thoughtfully styled to appear chic and polished for paparazzi while allowing you to go from Pilates to brunch without changing. Jenner, specifically, achieves this by accessorizing with her favorite The Row Stella flats, choosing refined outerwear, such as a stylish trench coat, and primarily wearing expensive-looking leggings from Adanola.
Adanola is a British activewear and loungewear brand that offers versatile, high-quality everyday pieces. What makes its garments popular among the style set (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kaia Gerber are fans, too) is its focus on fashion meets performancewear, meaning you can sweat and move comfortably while still maintaining a chic, cool-girl aesthetic. It does this with classic, streamlined shapes and unfussy designs, meaning no drawstrings, excess straps, boning, or graphics. Each piece, from the leggings to the zip-up jackets and track pants, comes in muted, wearable palettes. You'll find neutrals such as navy blue, black, graphite gray, and chocolate brown, as well as seasonal hues like cherry red, burgundy, plum, cobalt blue, and pistachio green. It's a brand worn by the who's who, but the question is, does that reputation actually mean it's worth the hype and the dollars?
After seeing Jenner's Instagram posts featuring Adanola leggings over and over, I finally decided it was time to get my hands on a few pairs, including the Ultimate Leggings she wears on repeat. Read on for my full review of Adanola leggings, which I put to the test while in L.A.
My Review
During the holiday break, I spent time in L.A. Knowing I'd be very active, I made sure to pack my Adanola leggings. I brought the Ultimate Pocket Leggings, Seamless Leggings, and Flared Yoga Pants, and randomly grabbed one of the three when I started my day walking around the neighborhood, taking a hot Pilates class, or going to Equinox to do 12-3-30 on the treadmill. With that said, let's get into my thoughts on each style.
The brand's best-selling Ultimate Pocket Leggings are soft, compressive, breathable, and flexible, featuring a right-side pocket and a high-waisted band. They are suitable for everyday wear and all workouts, offering midriff support, but are not fully sweat-wicking. The Seamless Leggings, new to the brand, are designed for heavier workouts. Despite my usual dislike for thick seamless fabric, these leggings pleasantly surprised me. They're sweat-wicking, breathable, and supportive, and hug the body like a second skin. Not to mention they don't have to be constantly pulled up. Finally, the Flared Yoga Pants are a softer, less elastic option that can be dressed up for errands. For example, I styled them with calf-hair mules, the matching sports bra, and a Bottega Veneta bag when running errands. While they come in two lengths, regular and tall, the regular still runs very long for petite wearers like me.
