Suddenly, All the Chicest People I Know Are Wearing Trench Coats in This Elegant, Wintery Shade
Autumn has got off to a mild start, so I'm in need of a lightweight layer to tide me over whilst my cosy winter coats remain waiting in the wings. I'm sure their time will soon come, but this intermediary period requires coverage that can give me a wash of warmth without causing me to overheat.
Inspired by the chic trench coats I've been seeing everywhere I look, I'm inspired to shop one for myself. However, rather than opting for a traditional beige or camel colour, I'm getting in on the under-the-radar but highly chic khaki trench coat trend.
With an earthy and slightly moody energy, this emerging trench coat trend adds depth and interest to an outfit whilst nodding to the change of season, and whilst camel and beige iterations are true staples that never go out of style, trench coats in this rich autumnal shade are both seasonally apt and a fresh alternative to the trench coat colour trends that have come before.
Taking over our favourite stores, the trend has been widely adopted across high-street and designer brands this season, with traditional trench designs, elegant car coats and chic double-breasted styles in the trendy shade. This wintry hue is muted enough to style well with a wide range of shades. A colour seen throughout nature, it pairs well with other earthy tones including browns, beiges, whites and black, as well as with more vibrant colours including burgundy and plum.
