I'm Obsessed With Loafers—5 Outfits I'll Be Re-Creating With the Preppy Shoes
I'm usually a heel person, but for some reason, I am finding myself really leaning into flat shoes this fall and winter. I'm not sure if my feet are just tired from a summer of strappy sandals and high heels, but for me, it's a flat-shoe fall. One particular shoe style has been calling out to me: loafers. Loafers are a fashion-person must-have and can take many outfits from boring to elevated in the blink of an eye.
This fall, I wanted to make sure I had loafer styling down, which involved hunting for tons of loafer-centric outfits and picking out which ones I must re-create this fall and winter. I ended up with five winners that are total compliment magnets, and what kind of friend would I be if I kept them to myself?
Keep scrolling to see the five ways I'll be styling loafers this season. You can thank me later.
Button-Front Cardigan + Jeans + Handbag
There is something about the simplicity of this outfit that I just love. It looks casual while still being polished and stylish. The color of the loafers really elevates this look if you ask me. I have a pair of off-white loafers myself and have been wearing them nonstop. Plus, I'm seeing them all over Instagram this fall. I highly recommend getting your hands on a pair before the end of November.
Shearling Jacket + Tights + Miniskirt
I'm saving this outfit for a daytime outing this fall. I love the cozy vibe of the shearling jacket paired with the flirty miniskirt. Plus, the tights really take this look from casual to chic. I'm obsessed.
Miniskirt + Ankle Socks + Trench Coat
The pairing of ankle socks and loafers is really growing on me this season. I adore the way Sophie Suchan styled hers with a miniskirt and long leather coat, adding a cool factor to this outfit. You can also add tights if it's already too cold for exposed legs.
Oversize Blazer + Trousers + Scarf + Sunglasses
This outfit works for the office or the weekend. In fact, it's my office day tomorrow, and I think I might re-create this look. Don't forget the scarf and sunglasses—the accessories really make this one.
Turtleneck Sweater + Jeans + Leather Bag
This classic sweater-and-jeans outfit looks so good with loafers. It's a no-brainer. You can file this outfit under "wear basically anywhere." It works for a travel day, happy hour, running into the office… Wherever you're off to, this one works.
