Stop Right There: Skip The Baby Pink Color Trend For This Vibrant Alt Instead

The crossover between beauty and fashion trends is so fascinating to me. For example, boho chic has found its way back into the fashion set's hearts—flouncy, ruffled tops are everywhere, as are clogs, wide-leg jeans, and plaid prints. Following suit in the beauty department, 70s-inspired hair looks are also currently in-style. The indie-sleaze party-girl trend was a major moment last summer (hi, Brat summer!), and with it, Kate Moss-esque beach waves were trending, as was smudgy eyeliner and ethereal eyeshadow. So, with the guava-influenced beauty trend transporting us to Punta Canta this summer, It's only a matter of time before the coral-y fuschia shade takes over our closets.

Move over butter yellow. Guava is the refreshing shade taking over beauty (and therefore fashion this summer). Summer Friday's latest release, the Pink Guava Butter Balm, plunged the sensorial shade into popularity. Around the same time, Ellis Brooklyn released its Guava Granita scent. Eadem's new Guava Fresca Le ChouChou balm sold-out within days of its launch, and the rest is beauty trend history. With warm temperatures and summer travel on the horizon, the vibrant scent and color is transportive in the best way. A guava-colored dress or sandals can make you feel like you're on your way to a 5-star resort (even if you're only heading to dinner).

Fashion people embraced summer's Barbie pink trend with ease, and the powder pink moment that took over this spring surely set the stage for guava to take-off this season. Ahead, join me in trying-out the vibrant color this summer with these chic selects below.
