Hailey Bieber Told Me the "Perfect" Bra to Wear With White Tees

 If you look at any one of Hailey Bieber's daytime street style looks from this summer, you'll start to see a pattern. She wears a lot of white T-shirts. With them, you might spot some denim cutoffs, tube socks, and either loafers or sneakers. What you won't see, though, is any sign that she's wearing a bra. And no, that doesn't mean she's not wearing one. It just goes to show that the style she is wearing is really good and invisible in a way that's almost impossible to guarantee. Naturally, I asked her about it. 

Bieber is one of nine models—from the original supers such as Gisele Bündchen and Naomi Campbell to new-era names such as Adut Akech, Paloma Elsesser, and Emily Ratajkowski—who starred in the campaign for Victoria's Secret's just-launched Icon Collection. As such, I got the opportunity to talk all things lingerie with the Rhode founder. In addition to finally finding out the details of her miracle bra for wearing under white tees, I learned about the pajamas she's the most confident in, how she feels about working with her idols, and the three lingerie trends that she's been obsessing over this year. What's your favorite VS bra to wear with white T-shirts and tank tops?

I am such a fan of the Victoria's Secret T-Shirt Bra! I shot the campaign with VS last year, and it has been a fave of mine ever since. It's perfect for every day because it's so comfortable and supportive and is smooth under so many tops!

What's your first memory of walking into a VS store, and what do you remember about the experience?

Victoria's Secret has always been a brand that my friends and I loved growing up. I remember loving all the beautiful options of bras and panties and being able to browse and choose my favorites. It feels so full circle that I was able to work alongside such amazing, powerful women within this campaign.

How was shooting the Icon campaign among so many powerful women?

Working with so many women with careers that I have admired for as long as I can remember has been a dream come true. The energy on set was so fun, and I love how we all continue to be so celebratory of one another and all that we have accomplished.

Why did you decide to work with VS?

I was so excited when the opportunity to work with VS came to life. I have always admired the brand and the amazing women that have helped make VS so iconic. Everyone is so kind and supportive, and it really does feel like working with family every time we're on set—the Icon campaign shoot was no different!

What style of lingerie makes you feel most confident?

I feel most confident in lingerie that I can feel comfortable wearing. One day, confidence can feel like a cozy, silky PJ set, or the next, it can be a fun matching bra and panty. I love that Victoria's Secret has beautiful lingerie options for any vibe, and I can feel like myself wearing it.

In your opinion, what are the top three lingerie trends of 2023?

I've seen a lot of bright colors on lingerie this year. Victoria's Secret has neon-green styles for fall that are stunning and super on-trend! I've also noticed that lingerie as outerwear is big and so are slip dresses! The Icon Collection has these beautiful midi slip dresses that feel so vintage and chic.
