23 Effective Hand Sanitizers That Are Actually Moisturizing
As a germaphobe who always has a stash of hand sanitizers and wipes everywhere I go, I haven't had to change my routine much. (But maybe now I won't feel as bad for holding up the TSA line at the airport while I wipe down the bins.) In any case, I'm more than willing to spend time researching the product that has long kept me sane whenever I leave the house.
First thing's first: You'll want to find a hand sanitizer made with at least 60% alcohol, per CDC recommendations. Beyond that, you'll want to look for some key ingredients if you want a formula that will also moisturize your hands: aloe, vitamin E, hyaluronic acid, almond oil, tea tree oil, and lavender oil are all great for this. Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 14 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Kate and Meghan stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible.
