These "Ugly" Boots Are All Over My Instagram Feed at the Moment
Manu Atelier is already well known for being a cult bag brand favoured by fashion insiders. Created by two cool-girl sisters from Istanbul, Beste and Merve Manastir (worth an instagram stalk for sure), the brand lists celebrity fans such as Bella Hadid, Sarah Jessica Parker and Eva Chen, who have all sported their structural leather bags in the past.
It was when the brand released its first shoe collection earlier this summer through that we felt the obsession take hold. The line includes on-trend strappy sandals and lace-up mules but it was really the boots everyone behind the scenes was talking about. They may be the ultimate "ugly” shoes, but fashion girls have fallen hard. Since May, we’ve been waiting for the temperature to drop so we could finally justify the investment, and apparently we weren’t the only ones.
In the last few weeks, we’ve seen these boots all over Instagram on some of our favourite influencers. The lace-up duck boots—love them or hate them—seem to be the firm favourite. So much so that they are currently sold out with stock due to return in the next couple of weeks. But we also love the similar, somewhat more wearable styles below and we’re calling it now that it won’t be long until the entire collection is gone (especially the cowboy boots—drool).
The second season is due to drop in November, and we’ve just had a sneak peek (hello butter-yellow boots and colour-block mules), but will anything ever beat these panelled kitten-heel boots from the original line? We don’t think so.
Keep scrolling to see how they’re being styled and to shop the collection before it’s all sold out.
