Thanks, It's New: The 23 Best Fashion Buys We Scored in May

While you could easily spend hours scouring the endless retail landscape for the best shopping finds of the moment, we're just going to cut to the chase and tell you which are the best items worth actually buying. After all, it's our jobs to know. As a team of fashion and shopping editors, we've collectively reviewed thousands of spring's top shopping picks and written about them, the trends they tap into, and how to style them at length. So when we recommend something, we don't do it lightly.
Today, though, we're taking things one step further and revealing our own order history to back up our picks even more. Not only have we inevitably written about and featured each of the 23 finds you'll see up ahead, but we've put our money where our mouths are and bought them, too, so we can say with absolute certainty that they're truly worth it. We're pulling the receipts and showing you what we've personally added to our closets this month along with some inspirational outfit photos to show how we're styling our new-to-us picks. Not to brag, but our editors have great taste, so when we say that each of these new buys is it, we think you'll agree.

"Déhanche consistently has the most beautiful belts. My latest find is the Louison style from its latest collection. The beautiful piece is designed in camel and black colorways—each with exposed white contrast stitching. It's such a beautiful, timeless piece that I know will be in my closet for many years."

When did classic button-down shirts get this chic? With its wide cuff sleeves featuring a slit up halfway up the arm, the Lief from emerging shirting label The Anteros has become one of my most-worn pieces of the last few months. It looks instantly polished whether I'm styling it with vintage denim or a silk column skirt.
I can't remember the last time I reached for a miniskirt, and that's definitely in large part because of more elegant maxi skirts like this poplin A-line style entering my closet. The volume is so beautiful on this one, and I love that the elastic waistband can be styled low or high-rise depending on the vibe.

"Jewelry isn’t something I usually get compliments on, but I wore this necklace once—just once—and got stopped by strangers on the West Side Highway of all places. It’s a power piece that somehow manages to stand out and still layer beautifully with your everyday staples."
"I’ve been on the hunt for matching sets—I'm always in need of a purchase that makes me feel put-together but can still be styled a bunch of ways. I stumbled upon this one from Sézane and immediately knew it was The One. For NYC, I’ve been pairing it with a blazer and lots of gold accents, but I already have plans to bring it on vacation with me, styled with woven accessories and strappy sandals for a more summery vibe."
"It takes a lot for me to be swayed into making an Amazon purchase, but my friend brought this hat on a recent girls' trip, and I ended up borrowing it every chance I got. By the end of the weekend, I knew I had to order one for myself—and I have a feeling it’s going to be in heavy rotation all summer."

"I've definitely jumped on the butter-yellow bandwagon this spring. I've been wearing this relaxed, lightweight, soft sweater on repeat—with everything from linen pants to denim shorts. I'll often just throw it over my shoulders with a striped tee to add an of-the-moment touch to my look."
Nikki Chwatt, Associate Fashion Editor
"During my visit to the Massimo Dutti store in Paris, I noticed these pants and was captivated by their subtly crinkled fabric and side buckle accents. I'm thrilled I chose to try them on in-store, as they fit much better on the body than they appeared on the hanger. They sit low on the hip, which I really appreciate for spring and summer since they pair well with everything from silk blouses and lightweight cardigans to cropped tees and fitted tanks. Additionally, I love how the slim fit creates a tailored and polished look."
"If you're in search of a car coat resembling the popular Sézane Clyde coat but at a more affordable price, consider this option from Zara. Crafted from lightweight linen, it’s perfect for spring, and its gray color sets it apart from typical black or beige varieties."
Emma Walsh, Beauty Editor, Branded Content
"Be prepared for compliments galore when you wear this set (especially in the Ballet Slipper color!). It's so airy and comfortable but makes you look effortlessly put together. I love to dress it down with a pair of white sneakers or dress it up with kitten heels and a handbag."
