TikToker Niamh Adkins's Morning Routine Is Full of Stress-Relieving Rituals
What's the first thing you do when you get out of bed in the morning? A well-rounded morning routine sets the tone for the day and gets you prepped—both mentally and physically—before you dive into a packed schedule filled with emails, chores, happy hours, workouts, and more. Our series Morning Person profiles those who have mastered the art of the morning routine.
Tune in every week here and on our Instagram to learn exactly how the pros get it all done before the sun comes up, from their go-to breakfasts to their a.m. workouts.
I first came across Niamh Adkins’s viral TikTok videos last summer, and it wasn’t long before her very relatable, always hilarious, and often deprecating reflections about everything from her mental health to her boyfriend to her love for Taylor Swift became a frequent presence at the top of my FYP.
In July of 2021, the South African and British influencer has amassed well over 1.7 million (and counting) followers on the app, along with millions of views across her other social channels. And as a digital content creator, social media personality, and model, Adkins is an entertainment powerhouse who spends the majority of her days working on various videos and campaigns.
As her fan base and slated projects continue to grow, it's no wonder that Adkins prioritizes incorporating stress-relieving habits in the mornings to help her feel her best. Keep scrolling to see the rest of her self-care-focused morning rituals.

Good morning! I am what you might call a morning person, and when the sun comes out, I am ready to jump out of bed. Usually, my boyfriend, Joe, will pull me back under the covers for a bit because he loves a cuddle, so I'll relax for a few more minutes to soak up some time together.

Now that I’m officially up and out of bed, the first thing I do is make coffee. I’m coffee-obsessed, so I have a whole routine. My current go-to is an oat milk latte with honey and some Reishi mushroom powder. I'm not big on smoothies, but I still like to try out different types of nutrients and ingredients in other ways, like in my coffee or by taking supplements.

I read recently that sunlight hitting your eyes wakes you up, so I’ll enjoy my coffee either outside or by the window and pull out my journal.
My brain wakes up before I do, so my journal is like my stream of consciousness. If I’m stressed, I will work to start my sentences with "I am grateful for," and I'll follow up by letting myself write about whatever is causing me stress, so that feeling flows right out of me and into the pages of my journal.

Over quarantine, I moved to be with my boyfriend and his family, and we both liked it so much, we’re still here. Luckily for me, this also comes with daily, freshly baked bread from my boyfriend’s mother. (I know—I’m spoiled!)
While we enjoy our toast and jam every morning, we will also get (maybe a little too) competitive over a game of Backgammon. My boyfriend insists that he's the better player, but we both know I’m the one to beat.
8:30 A.M.
Now that I have a full tummy, it’s vitamin time! I’m a bit of a creature of habit, so I try to incorporate small things into my routine that make me feel my best. I’ve found that taking the time to give my body the nourishment it needs is a habit I like to keep.
As I said, I usually wake up, full of energy and with a lot on my mind, so one of my go-to vitamins has been the Health by Habit's Stress Relief blend, which has great ingredients like Ashwagandha and lemon balm. I recently starred in the brand’s campaign and have been taking these ever since.

Another habit I like to be consistent with is moving my body, so each morning, you can find me on the deck jumping rope or using the elliptical.
I’ve been liking the elliptical more lately because I can do a bit of brainstorming and scroll through content at the same time. Whichever workout I’m doing, though, you can bet I’m listening to Taylor Swift or Wholesale Replica Bag pop songs—I eat that sh*t up!
10 A.M.
Now that I’m a bit sweaty, it's time to shower. I’m actually usually a quick showerer unless I have to shave. Then I'll take the time to give myself the works. I wash my hair daily, so I like Vegamour’s Gro Revitalizing Shampoo and Conditioner because I feel like they keep my hair feeling soft and healthy.
Afterward, I'll cleanse my face Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Foaming Face Wash while I sing a few show tunes (I’m partial to Wicked or Legally Blonde) before hopping out to dry off.
I finish with a bit of skincare, which is when I'll use Atolla's Custom Serum, and it's been keeping my skin happy, and then I do my hair and makeup.
11 A.M.
After I’ve treated myself to my shower, skincare, and makeup time, you can find me dressed and ready to go. Every day is different, so these habits keep me feeling grounded, but I try to be kind to myself as well. If I can’t get it all in, I know there’s always tomorrow!
