20 Things I'm Buying Thanks to What the Chicest People Are Wearing in New York
I don't know about you, but New York Fashion Week seems like one big blur to me. As the storm died down, and I finally had time to come back to my desk and start dissecting the F/W 19 trends, I couldn't stop thinking about not only the runways and presentations but also the incredible street style I spotted throughout the week.
Like the true procrastinator I am, I decided to halt my trend research for something a little more instantly gratifying: shopping. I went to the one-stop shop that editors and influencers source their latest street style worthy finds from (Shopbop, duh) and hunted down the items I have been crushing on since last week. Thanks to all the chic NYFW attendees, I now have a cart so full I don't know what to buy first.
Ahead, shop the items I spotted all over the NYFW street style scene.
This blazer can be cinched at the waist as well if you're not into the oversize look.
Apparis is a faux-fur coat brand editors took an extreme liking to this season, wearing colors ranging from baby blue to leopard.
This Rachel Comey dress was also a heavy hitter, but it wasn't until our editor in chief, Kat Collings, wore it that I knew I had to have it.
This puffer comes in two colors, and honestly, I need both. They looked so cool among the sea of coats with that slight acid-wash edge.
Everyone and their mothers wore some version of this Proenza Schouler tie-dye hoodie, including me.
Not your average knee-high boots, that's for sure. Tibi fans wore these bad boys all week long.
The easiest and chicest way editors wore the Western trend was via leather fringe jackets (and of course, cowboy boots). Tamu McPherson wore this version, and I just about died of jealousy.
Tie-dye and utility all in one. These pants made me weak in the knees every time I saw them walk past me.
Just another Staud bag a fellow editor friend carried that I now need to add to my ever-growing collection.
This fleece, among basically every other Sandy Liang fleece, was spotted all over New York last week.
A Shrimps bag serves as the ultimate street style bait, and that's exactly what this baby did during NYFW.
I saw my old boss wear this sweater with a printed skirt, so I went and bought this sweater and wore it with a printed skirt.
This headband brand is about to blow up according to the street style scene.
You wouldn't expect this dress would be easy to wear, but after seeing it on multiple occasions, I was convinced otherwise.
I noticed people wearing these low Dr. Martens over the Jadon Platforms that basically everyone now owns. They looked so cool styled with white ankle socks and a tailored suit.
Next up, shop the best shoes to wear with straight-leg jeans. Because let's be honest—it's hard.
