This Fresh Flat-Shoe Trend Is Dominating in London and New York Right Now
There was one unanimous winner amongst the trends showcased in the A/W 23 runway shows in February this year. Not a new style of coat or a reimagined silhouette—the season’s hottest trend is a classic colour that's back with a vengeance: fiery red. Setting the runways ablaze at Gucci, Valentino and Eudon Choi, some of our favourite designers set the scene for a season of passionate, rich and incandescent dressing.

And with autumn officially upon us, the fashion set is painting the streets red with luxurious knits and red-hot accessories, but my favourite way to wear the colour trend is undoubtably red ballet flats.
Having witnessed the ballet-flat trend dominate throughout the summer months and continue to grow into autumn, it was only a matter of time until the season's favourite shoe style joined forces with its hottest colour to give us the only shoes we're interested in wearing right now.
Celebrities, influencers and fashion editors are equally enamoured; across the London, New York and Milan shows last month, showgoers were spotted up and down the streets sporting red ballet flats.
Who What Wear UK affiliate editor Emily Dawes styled red ballet flats with a tonal bag and knit.
When paired with other red pieces, red ballet flats bring a look to life with a vibrant, elevated effect that requires no extra effort. Equally as chic when styled with jeans and a tee, these shoes add a playful and polished edge in one go.
To ensure you put your best foot forward, I've rounded up the best red ballet flats available to shop right now. From Ganni to Boden, prepare to inject some spice into your shoe collection.
