No One Will Believe These 3 Coats Are From River Island

When I say the words River Island, you might think of all things glam. However, recently, the brand has been shifting its aesthetic towards a more pared-back look. It is now establishing itself as a go-to for everyday staples with a fashion edge, and it is the selection of jackets and coats that I’ve been most impressed by. The River Island Studio line is one of our favourite places on the high street for elevated but interesting designs with more directional silhouettes.
We love the whole edit, but the jackets and coats, in particular, really stood out to our team. Shopping editor Joy and I had to try them on in real life. There’s the most amazing checked borg coat, a green quilted boxy jacket that is yo-yoing in and out of stock and an oversized blazer that looks so expensive. Keep scrolling to see the three River Island pieces we wish we could keep a secret this autumn.
Quilted Jacket
Emma says: "This is the perfect throw-on-and-go quilted jacket, and I love how it's boxy enough to fit any jumpers underneath. I am a size 10 and wearing a medium, so it is worth bearing in mind that it is a very roomy fit."
Borg Coat
Joy says: "Graphic, checkered and just the right amount of oversized, this River Island coat really hits it out the park. It's the sort of style you can throw over basically anything, and it'll look good. The one thing I would say is that the sizing comes out pretty big, so size down if you're on the petite side or prefer a closer fit."
Blazer
Emma says: "This blazer comes with matching trousers, but I love how this looks with baggy jeans. The two buttons and sweeping collar make this look so expensive."
