15 Beauty Products Rosie Always Uses When She Does Her Own Makeup

When we recently caught up with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to chat about her role as a global ambassador for BareMinerals, we weren’t expecting to get the full lowdown on the entire breadth of products she uses when she does her own makeup. We were, however, delighted that the model was happy to spill the beans on the contents of her beauty bag—including the budget product she relies on to prep her lips and her perfect red lipstick. Keep reading for top tips on how to get Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s iconic, glowy look from the lady herself.

1. Prep lips fist

Despite having top makeup artists like Katie Jane Hughes and Nikki DeRoest on speed dial, when it comes to doing her own makeup, Huntington-Whiteley keeps it low-key: "Usually when I start my makeup, I’ll put a little Aquaphor or Vaseline on my lips—one of my fave drugstore finds. I do my whole makeup, and my lips are usually one of the last things I’ll do. Doing this will make them feel hydrated before I put my lipstick on."

2. Choose long-wear formulas

"I like long-wear products so I can put them on in the morning and not think about them all day,” Huntington-Whiteley told us. "Nikki put the BarePro Longwear Lipstick in Cinnamon on me. I had a slap-up lunch, and I didn’t even need to touch-up my lips. I’m really a girl who doesn’t want to be spending time on focusing on my makeup in the day. I’m too busy in the moment, so I tend to lean more towards nude colours in the day, as you don’t have to think about it so much or whether it matches what you’re wearing.”

3. Red always looks good

"In the evening, I’m so obsessed with a bold lip,” she explains. "The BarePro Longwear Lipstick in Cherry is the only red in the collection, which I think speaks volumes to how good it is and how confident the brand feels about the shade. It suits all skin tones. It’s really just a classic bold red, and I think every woman should have that in her cosmetic wardrobe to take your look from day to night. You don’t know what to wear? You throw on that little black dress, red lip and a great pair of heels, and you’re out the door. It’s always such a beautiful look, I think.”

4. Have fun with it

When it comes to beauty trends, as Huntington-Whiteley said, she’s not so fussed—but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t find joy in playing with makeup: "I’ve found myself, over the last year, having more fun. Since the launch of Rose Inc. and certainly being a mum, I don’t worry so much about things. I play with colour, and I have the opportunity now to work with such incredible artists, and we get to have so much fun with makeup and have this really creative collaboration.”
