What Surprised Us Most About Saint Laurent’s Paris Fashion Week Show
Saint Laurent’s presentation in Paris today was surprising for many reasons (a couture show among a week of ready-to-wear is one of them), but it was designer Hedi Slimane’s choice to present the show with no music, that surprised us most. Each look was announced by number in French and English as the models sauntered down a circular staircase.
The collection redefined ’80s glamour—in a way that makes us want to reach back into our wardrobes for shoulder pads, exaggerated shapes, big belts, and sequins.
