My Saved Tab on Instagram Is Full of Perfect September Outfits
I'll be the first to admit that I spend a lot of time on Instagram. While I might have lost the plot of films and TV shows I'm "watching" thanks to endless scrolling, I have something to show for it: great outfit ideas. And in my line of work, great outfits matter. As you might imagine, I see an endless array of outfit combinations, and while there are plenty that aren't quite right, there are many that stop me in my tracks.
For example, I've followed Amy Julliette Lefévre (who goes by @lefevrediary on Instagram) for a while, and a few weeks ago, I came across the perfect outfit from her: a striped knit, wide-leg jeans and black boots. I immediately saved it to my September-looks folder (because I do that sort of thing). Before I knew it, I'd saved loads of other looks that I know will be amazing for the coming month.
There are trouser-and-knit combos that are ideal for the in-between weather, but I've also found plenty of looks you can still wear with sandals when the weather allows. It's key to remember that this is the time of year when you might be able to wear sandals one day but have to throw on ankle boots the next. Ready to see the nine best outfits? Keep scrolling.
1. Stripe Vest + Classic Jeans + Ankle Boots
Easy, chic and all about proportions. The striped knit has a classic feel, modernised with the sleeveless style, whilst the long-length jeans just allow the black boots to peak out, with pointed toes to add a sleek touch

2. Leather Trousers + Knit Top + Printed Jacket
Personally, I can't wait to pull out my leather trousers again for the cooler seasons, and Charlotte proves that combining black and brown is seriously good.

This will also look great with a full tonal look.
3. Oversize Blazer + Slip Dress + Basket Bag
Blazers are a key player for the upcoming season, and pairing one with a slip dress is the easiest way to create an elevated look that goes from day to night.

4. Leather Trench + Baggy Jeans + Graphic Top
Soon enough, the streets will be awash with trench coats. Add a fashion touch by opting for a leather finish.

5. Longline Blazer + Midi Skirt + Trainers
As I said, blazers are big for autumn, and this is the chicest way to give your midi skirt a fresh makeover.

6. Sweater + Vest + Wide-Leg Trousers
All it takes to transform your favourite summer pieces into a chic autumn look is a cosy sweater. Keep to hand for cooler days, or wear over your shoulders if the sun makes an appearance.

Arket's timeless striped jumper is back again this year after it became a staple of the fashion set last autumn.
The cooler months rely on layering staple pieces, like this black tank.
As a handbag enthusiast, invest in a classic black bag that will last a lifetime.
Reformation may be known for its glorious dresses, but its tailoring is just as good.
7. Biker Jacket + Cargo Trousers + Clogs
It's time to dig out your biker jacket, or invest in a new one if you haven't already. Combine with '90s cargo pants for a true 2022 feel.

8. Knitted Top + Tailored Trousers
One of my favourite necklines has to be the sweetheart. The classic style feels so fresh with wide tailored trousers and barely there strappy heels.

9. Trench Coat + Tee + Jeans
Of course, I had to include a classic Breton-and-trench combo, a look you'll rely on for days when you just can't decide what to wear.

Every wardrobe relies on a great pair of blue jeans.
