What Men Really Think of This Unusual Trend

The best thing about fashion is being able to dress completely for yourself and to wear what makes you feel, well, like yourself. But it certainly never hurts to get the opinions from others when we're feeling experimental with trends, and men especially rarely ever hold back the truth. So we thought we'd see what a group of gents would have to say about the controversial naked trend

The provocative sheer trend has been seen everywhere from the runway to the red carpet, proving everyone is embracing fabrics that show a little (or a lot) of skin. And even though the men we spoke to had some pretty entertaining responses to say the least, regardless of whether they were on board or not we'd still be investing in the prettiest bralettes to show off underneath a see-through blouse or two come spring.

"This looks pretty sensible, actually. Upon learning more about sheer, I was expecting something more akin to flashy curtain blinds. But this just looks, well, trendy. Those glasses need to go, though. That tint reminds me of those stupid glasses sold to gamers to help relax your eyes."—Alex, 30

"Business on top, party on the bottom; she’s dressed for all occasions. I could imagine us on the Amalfi Coast in our private villa looking respectable at lunch because Nonna’s around. Little does Nonna know, but my girl's actually got her knees out for everyone to see!"— Ben, 27

"This looks super cool. Everything about this is cool. The skirt looks like the paisley pattern shirt I wore to my year six formal, but the shoes are nice. The sheer thing is cool. It's perforated. Kinda looks like she's wearing a really sexy tea bag."— Mark, 36

"I actually think I really like sheer top layers. I think it comes down to having something interesting underneath though? No point wearing something sheer if you're wearing boring underwear. Wait, actually, are they comfortable? Are you actually torturing yourself because you can't bring yourself to buy some fabric that's not full of tiny holes? Don't do that. I think I've reversed my opinion on it entirely. I dunno."—Cam, 28

"It's like looking at the perfect match between the '90s golden age of hip hop (pants) and a Hollywood awards ball (top). It all works until we hit the neck. Why? Why would you put a turtle neck on something like that?"—Gordon, 25

"I like the sheer thing. I guess it's like, 'Hey, my bra is here, look at me pushing cultural norms in strange new directions.' But I'm 100 percent on board with that. What I cannot abide is the big black fuzzy stripe going down the middle. This is an atrocity. We must speak up against this abomination. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept."—James, 33

"Clothes can give you confidence, and with enough confidence you can rock any trend. From this man's perspective, I love a girl with confidenceif you're going to rock sheer, own it, and I'll give you props for it. (Note: The fact that sheer is pretty much see-through did nothing to sway this man's opinion.)"—Nathaniel, 30
