All I Want Is Clear, Glowing Skin This Spring—Here's What's on My Shopping List
Out with the old and in with the new is my current spring beauty MO. Our clocks have officially sprung forward, spring trends are forthcoming, and I'm beyond antsy to swap out my winter skincare regimen for the formulas that will give me the bright, dewy, clear skin of my dreams this season. As a beauty editor, I'm always checking the pulse on the most coveted, shoppable skincare finds, and my cart is currently brimming with a gleaming mixture of old and (hopefully) new favorites.
I'm going to give you a sneak peek into the top 30 products I have my heart set on for spring, but that's not all! Our like-minded friends over at Violet Grey (the most divine beauty retailer of all time) have the same spring-cleaning, out-with-the-old-in-with-the-new mindset that we do right now, and today through March 15, it's offering 20% off selected brands. (Augustinus Bader! Nécessaire! Dr. Barbara Sturm!)
Simply enter the code SPRINGCLEANING at checkout, and your discount will be applied. Below, I'm sharing 30 beauty products on my must-hoard list for spring. If you only feel like splurging on one item, I've included the 20% off sale price, but if you plan to really take advantage of this mega shopping event and load your cart with all things (as I have), you won't see your 20% deal until checkout. And with that, go shop!
Augustinus Bader
111Skin
It doesn't get any fancier than this beautiful serum from 111Skin. Beloved by makeup artists and celebrities, it's brimming with the most luxurious ingredients like 24-karat gold, brightening niacinamide, plumping hyaluronic acid, and antioxidant-rich Damask rose extract. Apply it over your entire face as you normally would, mix it with your foundation or moisturizer, or tap it on your Cupid's bow or cheekbones for the prettiest highlight.
Any makeup artist will tell you that skin prep is just as (or maybe even more!) important as the actual makeup application before a celebrity attends a red carpet or event. Pro Pati Dubroff uses these botanical-infused sheet masks to help perfect the complexions of famous clients like Margot Robbie and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
Beauty Bio
Micro-needling tools are Wholesale Replica Bag at-home skin-rejuvenating craze, but not every device is made equally. This sleek number from Beauty Bio has one of the most loyal followings among the Hollywood set and stimulates plumper, dewier skin by triggering new skin cell growth.
Dr. Barbara Sturm
This is probably the most expensive supplement I own, but it's also one of the most effective. I'm pretty sure the unique hero ingredient, purslane, is why my skin has perked up and significantly cleared since I started popping these daily. Although, it has plenty of other amazing ingredients like the antioxidant astaxanthin and other key MVPs like resveratrol, coenzyme Q10, and L-glutathione.
The hyaluronic acid serum of all hyaluronic acid serums, Sturm's formula is the most coveted on the market and an essential add-on if you're looking to keep your skin surged with plump, dewy skin this season. (The secret is the addition of purslane, which is rich in antioxidants and fends of cell-damaging free radicals.)
Dr. Dennis Gross
I haven't tried this game-changing two-step mask yet, but it's one of my fellow beauty editor Courtney Higgs's *very few* skin obsessions. (She's as picky as I am when it comes to products that touch her face!) According to her, it delivers dewier, glow-enhancing results than an in-office facial. Need.
Celebrity esthetician Shani Darden keeps telling me to invest in an LED mask to help clear breakouts and fade lingering acne scars. This spring, I plan on finally taking the plunge! Inspired by Dr. Gross’s in-office light therapy, this Hannibal Lecter like mask utilizes the power of 100 LED lights in red mode and 62 LED lights in blue mode to iron out wrinkles, tighten skin, reduce discoloration, and banish mild to moderate acne. Use it in pure red mode, pure blue mode, or a combination of both!
These acid-enriched peel pads come highly recommended by the most sought-after skin experts. I love to use the OG formula a few times a week to peel away dead skin cells and another dulling buildup, but for spring, I'm opting for this formula to gift my complexion with a sun-kissed dose of color as well.
IS Clinical
Courtney and I (plus a slew of celebrity skin experts) agree this multitasking cleanser from IS Clinical is one of the most magical skin formulas in the game. I never thought a cleanser could be special (or noticeably improve my complexion and acne) until I started using this formula every single day.
Salicylic acid gently exfoliates and vacuums out clogged pores, Centella asiatica (an antioxidant powerhouse) increases circulation and collagen production, and chamomile soothes and protects.
When Victoria Beckham's facialist tells you to do something, you do it. Per Melanie Grant's expert instruction, I rotate this delicious warming face wash with the above Cleansing Complex, and as I noted, my skin has never looked healthier or clearer. The key is in the decadent microbial, hydrating, and pore-refining melding of raw honey, royal jelly, and propolis.
This lightweight moisturizing lotion (which makeup artists helped develop, BTW!) isn't as well known under the IS Clinical umbrella, but it's seriously one of the best skin products I've ever put on my face. It's enriched with pharmaceutical-grade botanicals, peptides, and antioxidants; safe for all skin types (even oily or acne-prone); and utilizes hyaluronic acid, copper peptides, and enzymes to create an all-in-one moisturizing, anti-aging, and dew-enhancing formula. Truthfully, I'm addicted and use it morning and night to keep my skin right, tight, and blemish-free.
La Mer
This serum-infused lip volumizer is one of La Mer's newest launches, and it's actually one of my absolute favorites from House La Mer, period. It features the brand's signature ingredient, Miracle Broth, and subtly plumps your lips with the prettiest natural shine. I'm not a lip gloss person, but this one converted me. I like to add a layer while I do my makeup to let it work its magic. Then, I'll blot, apply my lipstick, and add another light layer to top it all off. The results are unreal.
I won't lie, the cooling metal applicator might be one of my favorite things about this best-selling eye cream. That and the fact it's one of the best formulas I've used for easing my dark circles, puff, and even the fine lines that have started to surface around the outer corners of my eyes.
Mutha
I actually haven't tried anything from Mutha yet, but I haven't heard anything but rave reviews from fellow beauty editors. I've been a body butter fan ever since the fateful first time I walked into a Bath Body Works when I was about eight, but I've since graduated to super-dreamy concoctions like this one. I'm keen to try it since it's all-natural and teeming with pure seed extracts to hydrate and improve skin's elasticity.
Even though I don't normally spring for body oils, this one sounds so damn lush it just might turn my head from my normal stash of lotions and butters. What separates this oil from the pack is that it contains a selection of seed oils (like rose hip) sourced directly from a plant's reproductive parts—including the buds—where they are in their purest, most nutrient-rich form. Plus, since it's a dry oil, it won't leave me sticky or greasy which is my ultimate nightmare and why I usually veer clear of oils.
Nécessaire
I used to lean hard into drugstore body wash offerings. Until I discovered Nécessaire's vitamin-dosed formula, that is. Not to offend, but now I turn my nose up at everything else. I appreciate it makes a fragrance-free version for those who don't like scented bodycare or have especially sensitive skin, but the sandalwood and eucalyptus options truly transform any shower experience. (Regardless of how un-glamorous your bathing environment might be.)
Royal Fern
Aside from sounding pretty, there's a story behind the Royal Fern name, and yes, the plant is the superstar ingredient throughout the entirety of the line. According to Violet Grey's website, the 400-million-year-old plant claims some of the most covetable skin properties. Its extracts protect skin cell DNA from light-induced aging and when creating the brand, renowned German dermatologist Timm Golueke combined said extracts with strategic anti-aging molecules to visually improve the skin.
This anti-aging eye cream is one of my favorites and helps minimize the effects of genetic and environmental skin aging. Circles look less shadowy, and my eye area always looks tighter and brighter.
I'm not normally a cleansing balm type of gal, but this one receives so many glowing accolades I'm having a hard time resisting. Deeply hydrating, the gel-balm houses specific anti-aging botanicals to protect the skin against environmental damage while keeping it balanced. Plus, since it effortlessly erases every last millimeter of face and eye makeup, its line of offense matches said defense. I'm normally fearful cleansing balms and oils will be too heavy for my oil- and acne-prone skin, but this formula is free of things like parabens, mineral oils, sulfates, and synthetic colors.
Shore Magic
Diet and nutrition play a huge role in how we feel and how our skin looks. And despite how popular collagen supplements have been recently, sourcing can be sketchy. I haven't tried Shore Magic yet, but their flavorless collagen powder is made from sustainably sourced wild fish skins and is free of additives, fillers, and preservatives.
As Violet Grey states on its website, the formula is backed by published science, 95% bioavailable (so your body can use it ASAP), and is 19 times more absorbable than typical sources of collagen. It's designed to improve the clarity and hydration of your complexion while also boosting muscle, joint, nail, and hair health. I can't wait to trade in my old collagen for this pick instead.
