How Our Editor Is Preparing for the Change in Season
It's almost time to shift gears from summer to autumn, so it's also time to re-evaluate a few things. Like, why did I buy 73 pairs of simple black slides? Next season I vow to be a little more calculated with my purchases. I'm planning ahead and using the last month of summer as a time to prep.
The pieces below have all been saved in my wish-list for at least the last month or so, and that tells me that they're pieces I'll still want to wear for the months to come.
I'm prepping for the change in season, by adding some extra layers to my closet and heavier fabrics. A knitted skirt will work with all the silk camis hanging in my wardrobe (just add a leather jacket and ankle boots), and the long sleeve tops will work well over or under slip dresses, or tucked into denim shorts.

Champion is having a major moment, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon with this long sleeve top.

A crystal-velvet choker is the next iteration of the fabric style. I'm starting with this, then I'll be adding to my collection.
Kimono shapes are #trending, and I'll be wearing this with the jeans you'll find below...
Every year I add a new pair of relaxed Bassike pants to my cool weather wardrobe. They're so easy to throw on with heels for the office, or slides for weekends.

The reworked denim trend just will not die, so I'm finally going to bite the bullet and buy the ultimate pair.
I bought these in black last year and basically lived in them. This red brick colour will go perfectly with pastel pink and khaki.
I can't remember the last time I bought a classic black blazer. If your wardrobe is missing one, now is the time to invest.
