Winter Workout Gear So Good You'll Actually Want to Exercise
When the weather outside is frightful (cold/wet/snowy/insert-cold-weather-problem-here), the last thing you want to do is to leave your house to work out. If you need an extra push to get yourself to the gym, fitness studio, or out on the running path when all you want to do during your free time is take a nap or relax, perhaps some new activewear would be a good motive? It might make you want to show off your new gear ASAP. For shopping inspiration, we've rounded up some of our favorite new picks from JoyLab, Target's activewear line. It just dropped a collection in time for wintry workouts and New Year's Eve resolution season.
This sporty poncho works for your trip to the gym, but is also great for everyday wear, too. Plus, the bright color will bring a little bit of sunshine even when it's depressingly gray out.
These leggings have a bungee cord tie at the waist so you can tighten or loosen if needed. The fun pattern is just another bonus.
While you're going to need a bunch of layers to head to the gym, when you're there, you're going to need some support, too. This comfortable ribbed bra will provide just that.
When you're feeling like you need an extra layer instead of your usual workout tank, this long-sleeve fitted tee is the answer. It has thumbholes so the sleeves will stay in place no matter what you're doing.
The tie-dye trend isn't going anywhere, especially when it comes to activewear. This roomy and and warm sweatshirt also comes in blue.
The ribbed detail transforms what would be ordinary leggings into something that's unique and trendy. These come in lime and a darker blue.
The leopard-print trend isn't going away any time soon. In fact, it's making its way to activewear. These are a mix of polyester and spandex and come with handy side pockets. There's also a red version.
This might be the coziest thing you'll wear all winter. Sure, you can wear this one to the gym and back, but you'll also likely wear it any time you want to feel warm and snuggly.
These joggers are fleece-lined, so you know you'll be extra warm on your winter run or walk outside. There are side pockets, and they also come in navy and white.
And if you want a matching set, there's a fleece hoodie, too. It's ultra roomy and comes with a big pocket for your keys and wallet.
Okay, so you're not going to wear this as is when you're en route to the gym or studio during the winter (unless you live in a warmer climate), but the foil print makes it so festive for this time of year. You'll shine bright in class.
This one's easy to throw on when you're finished working out. It's loose-fitting and breathable, which is optimal when you've been sweating a ton.
We haven't been able to shut up about those trendy sherpa jackets that are popping up everywhere, but how could we? They're so dang comfortable.
And if you can't get enough of the trend, why stop at a pullover? There are sherpa pants, too.
Those who aren't afraid of a little bit of pattern will love wearing these floral leggings to the gym. There's a front coin pocket for a key or some cash.
