For model-turned-entrepreneur Agatha Relota Luczo, beauty starts from the inside out. That could mean carving out time to practice gratitude, move your body, and in her case, take a daily shot of her Sicily-harvested olive oil (for all its health benefits!) In 2019, Relota Luczo co-founded Furtuna Skin, a luxury clean-skincare brand with the ethos that your well-being is rooted in mindful rituals, and this philosophy is clearly embedded throughout her own routine.
Keep reading to see how Relota Luczo's morning self-care practices help her set the tone for the day and maintain a sustainable work/life balance.
6:30 A.M.
I wake up, stretch, and take a moment to clear my head. I try not to look at my phone first thing in the morning so that I can stay present. The emails will have my full attention soon enough… ha!
6:40 A.M.
I do my morning skincare routine, which consists of the Furtuna Skin Transformation Set, in my sustainable silk robe or pj's from Helena Quinn. I use the micellar water to cleanse and tone my skin because it's gentle yet incredibly effective. (It doesn't strip your skin of its natural oils but still gets rid of any excess oil and dirt.)
I follow up with the face and eye serum, which lifts, depuffs, helps even the skin tone, and shields against environmental aggressors. I finish off with the biphase oil for an added boost of hydration and collagen production for a more supple appearance.
I’m also currently loving the new Goopgenes Body Butter for all-over skin nutrition. If I’m heading out and about for the day, I’ll often add a few drops of our biphase oil to a tinted moisturizer, and I always use my Westman Atelier brushes for any makeup application. They’re the best out there.
6:50 A.M.
I prepare myself a shot of high-quality Bona Furtuna olive oil. I take a straight shot of olive oil in the morning for my health (both inside and out). Olive oil can truly help keep your skin hydrated, but it does so much more than that. It can help reduce inflammation, support bone health, and even stabilize your blood sugar levels. Then, I follow that with a cup of warm water and fresh lemon.
7 A.M.
I start to prepare breakfast for the family. Even though virtual schooling has its challenges with four kiddos at home, I'm really glad that we get this extra time together. We try to eat as a family every morning and enjoy each other's company with a morning meal. They love to cook with me, and it’s a great place to have meaningful conversations and to teach them new skills. Their favorite recipe right now is my ricotta pancakes!
Gratitude is a huge ritual in our family, and meals are the perfect time to reflect on what we’re feeling grateful for and things we have to look forward to. We always use our Bambini Furtuna Family Gratitude Journal at the table, and it brings so much joy!
8 A.M.
This is when I open my email and check my phone for any important messages. I try to get through these before my team logs on around 9 a.m. This way, I know what's on my plate for the day. I use this time to respond to anything urgent and schedule any additional calls or Zoom meetings that might be necessary.
8:30 A.M.
If I’m lucky, I can squeeze in a 30-minute workout before my official workday begins. I take any opportunity I can to dance and move my body. I’m not a huge fan of intense cardio. I love to dance! Ballroom dance is a huge passion of mine—I actually wrote a children’s book about the benefits of ballroom dancing for little kids.
Lauren Roxburgh’s Aligned Life has also been a blessing. I bring my mini roller with me everywhere and always find time to stretch and work up a sweat. I love anything that promotes long, lean lines.
9 A.M.
My workday officially begins. Like many parents, at the moment, I’m on and off calls in between helping my four kids with their Zoom classes. It’s chaotic, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I definitely make a conscious effort to maintain a work/life balance, especially because my family's at home for the time being, and I want to soak it all in as much as possible.
