7 Athleisure Ladies to Keep on Your Radar
If there’s one trend that’s reigned supreme over the last few seasons, it’s athleisure—we’re talking sneakers, track pants, hoodies, and everything in between. Looking for new ways to test out the look? That’s where athleisure enthusiast Anaa Saber comes in. In her new column, the fashion girl behind @oursecondskin will offer up her best styling tricks for those of you looking to inject this cool trend into your everyday lives.
Times have changed—from relentless flipping through fashion magazines to endlessly scrolling through feeds, inspiration is (literally) at our fingertips. But even with social media constantly overflowing our timelines with fashion fuel, style tips, and nonstop inspiration, most of us probably don’t have a clue about what to wear. As someone who’s invariably on the prowl for fashion inspiration, I’ve decided to round up some of my favorite fashion It girls who are taking the athleisure trend to the next level.
With all this easily accessible information, things can easily become lost and forgotten—in one ear and out the other. Can you relate? The internet comes with a sense of overstimulation and oversaturation in basically anything that interests you. A swipe here, a swipe there, it’s easy to forget what you were searching for, which is why I decided I would do the honors of selecting some noteworthy fashion Instagram accounts whose style direction I truly admire, so all of you out there getting lost in the sauce can get back on track!
Athleisure is something that is so ubiquitous these days, especially when it comes to the same few brands and labels we constantly see. Someone who takes this trend and incorporates it in a never-seen-before manner—and invokes something a little more than just another fashionable hoodie or trendy dad trainers—intrigues me. It’s really energizing to see someone who loves vintage but can also rock a sporty jumper. It’s infusing who you are into the trend to personalize it and make it your own. Hasn’t that always been what fashion is supposed to stand for?
Anyway, here are some ladies unapologetically owning their looks.
Paloma Elsesser
Meet the model breaking boundaries by advocating strongly for body positivity, Paloma Elsesser. Not only does she know how to spice things up on set, but she also has a killer fashion sense. A harmonious blend of femininity-meets street hype is never a bad choice. Let’s be real, a posh trench with Jordans… groundbreaking!
Gia Seo
Stylist and consultant Gia has the magic touch for making what seems to be an unusual combo, a sight for sore eyes. The way she layers dresses and sweats together has our jaws dropping. Any objections to crowning her layer queen? Nope, I didn’t think so.
Amrit Sidhu
This DJ is serving up beats to Manhattan’s hottest crowd all while balancing side gigs, going on tour with her BFF Tommy Genesis, and hustling hard! We love a girl who isn’t afraid of mixing her stripes.
