Clean-Beauty Founder Babba C. Rivera Shares Her Ultimate Wind-Down Routine

It's no secret that we love a good morning routine. We've come to learn, however, that the rituals we do to wind down before bed are just as important. Whether you take 10 minutes or a few hours, it's precious time that you have set aside at the end of the day to take care of yourself. Our series Weekend Wind-Down highlights the nightly routines of the people we admire.

I like to start my weekend wind-down routine by taking a walk with my dog to enjoy nature and clear my head before the sun goes down. I spend most of my time at my house upstate right now, and being surrounded by so much space and nature has been such a blessing this past year. We go on these evening walks around dinner each night.

After my walk, I'll change into my pj's to get into the self-care zone. My fave set right now is from a new Swedish brand called Shop Trött. It's unbelievably soft and comfy but still so cute.

Before I do my own skincare routine, it’s bath time for Alma! I love spending this time with her after a long day of work, and she’s at the age where bubbles and water are just endless fun.

I’ve been using the Evereden baby line for her, and we both love it! They're clean and safe formulas created by mothers and doctors.

After Alma has had her bath, it’s time for my ultimate self-care routine. The Scalp Power Duo from my brand Ceremonia is my go-to ritual, which features the award-winning scalp remedy oil, Aceite de Moska, and our scalp massager.

First, I'll apply the mask to my scalp and let it sit overnight for the deepest nourishment and cleanse. Afterward, I'll use the Scalp Massager to give my scalp a much-needed massage to stimulate blood flow circulation, which can help boost hair growth, and it also helps to amplify the results of the mask.

Once my Aceite de Moska has been applied and I have massaged it in, I'll put on Ceremonia's spa headband and move on to my evening skincare routine.

Switching to clean skincare was the catalyst for my interest in clean beauty. I realized just how important it is to be mindful of what I’m putting on my body as much as what I put in it. That being said, two of my favorite clean skincare products at the moment are the Tracie Martyn cleanser and the Mantle Dream Mask. I use these weekly, if not daily.

8 P.M.

After my beauty routine, I’m in the perfect relaxed mood for bed and like to use this time to read a book or, if I have the energy for it, stay up and watch a movie with my husband.
