Rihanna Just Launched Fenty Hair, and the Products Are for Every Hair Type and Texture
You'd be hard-pressed to find a beauty editor who doesn't have at least one Fenty Beauty product in their personal collection. Many of us have multiple. I, for one, love the Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stain ($28) and the Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick ($32). That's not even considering Fenty Skin products or the fan-favorite Fenty Eau de Parfum.
There are so many existing products worthy of our time and attention, but as of today, we have an entirely new category to consider because Rihanna just launched Fenty Hair. Yep, we're now living in a reality in which a Rihanna-backed haircare line exists. The best part? It's formulated for every hair type and texture. "Creating products that were easy to use, no matter your hair type or texture, and that included repair in every step and could keep up with me, was crucial," Rihanna said in a press release. "From my curly people, to those who love protective styles, to those with straight or wavy hair, or short hair or long hair, there's something for you."
She's an inclusive icon. Ahead, see every single Fenty Hair product that dropped. From a bond-building treatment to a three-in-one styling tool, there's a lot to discuss.
The Products
The brand says it's ushering in a "new era of repair," so it makes sense that one of its hero products is a bond-building treatment. Called The Comeback Kid, this treatment mends damaged bonds that cause split ends. It also strengthens each strand and prevents future breakage. It does so with baobab seed extract, chia seed extract, and the brand's proprietary ingredient, Replenicore-5 (a complex of amino acids, proteins, and antioxidants).
It contains the same scent as all the other products. Warm and floral, it's a mix of yuzu, golden amber, coconut, vanilla, and creamy sandalwood. So, yeah, these products will probably make your hair smell as expensive as it makes it look.
Remember that proprietary complex we talked about? It's the hero ingredient in this shampoo, which is formulated for all hair types. The brand promises it will gently cleanse to remove oil and product buildup with a sulfate-free, color-safe formula.
We can't forget the matching conditioner. Like the shampoo, it has a hydrating, reparative, and smoothing formula. Clinically tested to reduce breakage and split ends, it promises to condition without weighing the hair down or leaving a filmy residue.
This is a richer, more intense take on the aforementioned conditioner. It's for people who want the most moisture possible in a conditioner (ahem, like me). It has an extra-rich texture that's supposed to melt into dry, damaged hair, offering the brand's trademark reparative and strand-strengthening benefits.
You know Rihanna wouldn't leave us hanging without a heat protectant. This one protects the hair up to 450ºF while hydrating, smoothing, de-frizzing, and detangling. It's basically a heat protectant and hair serum in one.
Along with the brand's Replenicore-5, this curl-defining cream contains mango butter to moisturize, define, and enhance dry curls. Did I mention it's also silicone-free? To use it, simply divide damp hair into sections before applying it from root to end, ensuring even distribution. Then, scrunch or style. It's up to you.
As a loyal fan of slicked-back buns and ponytails, I'm excited about this product. The brand promises high-performance, all-day strong hold without any crunch.
This is another one I can't wait to get my hands on. It's an edge-control gel that offers a strong hold without any flaking. Thanks to larchwood extract and red clover extract, it strengthens and thickens hair too. I plan on using this to accentuate and boost the baby hairs along my hairline. They need a little help (and control) now that it's summer and the humidity is high.
Last but not least, there's this 3-in-1 Edge Styling Tool that includes a comb, a brush, and a precision chrome tip. The first separates and defines the hair. The second smooths and shapes it. The third parts the hair and assists in certain designs.
