My Most Complimented Eye Shadow Palette Has a New Edition and It’s Bound to Sell Out
I fell in love with Mario Dedivanovic's namesake beauty line almost immediately when it launched. I knew the line was going to be good based on Dedivanovic's years of experience and long list of celebrity clientele, but let's just say I wasn't expecting that. It's rare to find a brand that's so approachable, but at the same time incredibly glamorous. I used to be extremely intimidated by celebrity makeup artist-made brands because I thought I lacked the skill to be able to make my looks as good as theirs.
But, the longer I continued to write about and have a passion for beauty, I realized that it's not about that. I reminded myself recently to reconnect with that part of myself that started writing about makeup simply because I loved it. It doesn't matter if you nail a recreation of a red carpet look—it should be about having fun and creating something you love without it having to look perfect. Dedivanovic's Makeup By Mario is the perfect brand that makes things simple. You can create an array of versatile looks that always look incredible without you needing the skill level of a professional. I learned this quickly when I first got my hands on the brand's limited edition Ethereal Eyes Palette. If you know which one I'm talking about, you'll know everyone on the internet raved about it for months—and for a good reason.
I would use that palette to create some simple, but really fun looks for events and dinners, and every time, without fail, someone would ask me what I used. Let me tell you, the matte shades matted and the shimmer shades shimmered! Each one was so pigmented and beautiful. I was beyond excited when I learned that the brand recently released a new (and limited) edition: The Ethereal Eyes Nature Palette ($69). This warmer-toned, nature-inspired palette is the perfect follow up. It features earthy tones that feel perfect for fall.
Additionally, I also got my hands on the brand's new foundation and some other hero products. In the above photo, I'm wearing an entire face of MBM and I'll tell you my thoughts on them below.
I absolutely love the warmer feel of this palette because these types of shades tend to complement my olive skin tone best. Upon applying my base shades, I immediately knew I was going to love this palette as much as I did the first one. The pigment payoff is unmatched and I found the matte shades so easy to blend together. The mattes are designed to have extra grip and I could tell. There was hardly any fallout when I put the product onto my brush and I immediately achieved the amount of color I was going for. Then, I added a few of the shimmers. I was drawn to the earthy green shade and when I put it on my lids—wow. I honestly can't wait to create future looks with this one. The shimmer shades are stunning and perfect for when I want to create something more dramatic, but it's also just a great everyday palette that I'd wear out to lunch or to a meeting.
I tried the brand's new foundation in the shade 16.5N. To give you a bit more context here, I actually wasn't crazy about MBM's first foundation offering. It was one of the rare products that didn't work for me from the brand because the coverage it offered was too sheer and I felt like I was wearing a skin tint. This formula, however, is a massive improvement. It's a true medium coverage foundation that can be built up to a really beautiful finish. It does have a bit more of a semi-matte finish, so keep this in mind if you have dry skin or get dehydrated easily like I do. It isn't a deal breaker, though, and I don't usually say that. I'm really picky about my foundation formulas because I usually find matte or silicone-based ones too drying, but this one is great, offering just the right finish without getting patchy after a few hours. If you really hydrate the skin beforehand and use a good primer, you'll be in great shape with this one.
I recently went to an event that the brand threw where they generously gave us some gift bags of star products to take home and play with. I was excited to find this in the gift bag because I hadn't tried it yet. To say I'm obsessed is an understatement. The subtle shimmer this offers is perfect and the shade Strawberry Glow looks amazing with almost any look. Not to mention it's super hydrating. I tend to prefer a gloss over a matte lipstick and this one gives you the perfect amount of moisture without being sticky.
This blush is everything. I have to be so careful with some blushes because if I apply too much of a pigmented shade on the initial swipe, it's over for me. This blush is perfect because it's really forgiving. It's really buildable and I appreciate that in a blush because it's easy to go overboard. It provides the perfect subtle wash of color and this rosy shade Rose Crush is now one of my all time favorites.
I'm a recent brown mascara convert. I have really dark hair so I used to think that brown eyebrow pencils and mascara just wouldn't show up on me but I was wrong. I love how natural this mascara looks on and the formula itself? Wow. It just glides over your lashes—extending and curling them without being thick or clumpy in the slightest. I can see that a lot of thought went into the formula because you can effortlessly build it up without any lashes sticking together. In fact, I was inspired to put on several different coats of mascara which I hardly ever do because Im lazy. This just made it so easy to build up.

When I tell you I've been trying to get my hands on this palette for years. It was always sold out, but when I found it in my gift bag recently, I felt like I manifested it. Never underestimate what you can do with a mattes-only palette. This one has all the perfect neutral shades you need to create natural-looking fall looks and the formulas are, again, really warm-toned and perfect for darker skin tones.
