If there's one thing I have way too much of in my closet, it's elevated basics. I can't resist pieces I can mix and match endlessly and rewear without ever getting sick of them. Another benefit of having a foundation of neutrals I love is that it makes me feel I have more space to bring in playful elements.
Recently, Bettina Looney, an editor in residence, wrote about how cost per wear is the "girl math" she lives by, which I relate to. My Filippa Hagg wool coat and cashmere sweaters are perfect examples. The amount I've worn them already makes them feel beyond worth it.
