I Tried the Viral Cloud Couch That's All Over TikTok—Here's My Honest Review
I’ve recently become obsessed with couch shopping—specifically tracking down the perfect “cloud couch.” One TikTok led to another, and before I knew it, I was deep in a rabbit hole of research. After watching countless videos, one in particular stood out to me: the cult-favorite Movie Night Sofa from Sundays Furniture.
If you're not familiar, the Vancouver-based brand was founded in 2019 by four friends with backgrounds in furniture design—named in celebration of Sunday mornings at home. Every piece is made to last, focusing on durability, timeless design, and real-life functionality (not just aesthetics). They even recently launched a sister company, Hetta, too.
As I've been testing the company's Movie Night 3-Piece Modular Sofa for the past month, here's my honest review.
The Movie Night Sofa Review
The first video I saw of the couch was from Devin Raimo, who started off by saying, “So, I get asked all the time how I keep my couch so white with two dogs… the trick is to buy a washable couch.” That instantly caught my attention.
I’ve always wanted a white sectional, but as someone who avoids wearing white clothes (because every single time I do, I somehow end up with a stain), I was nervous. The idea of a washable white couch felt like a game-changer—and that’s exactly what made me want the Sundays Movie Night Sofa.
The best part—aside from how comfortable it is—is the material. Sundays’ signature LiveLife performance fabric is stain-resistant, moisture-repellent, and comes with fully removable, washable slipcovers, so I don’t have to worry about spills on the all-white upholstery.
When it came to choosing a color, I knew I wanted that classic “cloud couch” look, and after debating between Cream Linen and Brie, I decided on Brie.
The Movie Night Couch is Sundays’ best-selling item, and it’s easy to see why. It has deep, sink-in seats, oversized, cloud-like cushions, and a design that’s ideal for movie nights (as the name clearly suggests). I wanted a couch that actually felt cozy to relax on—and it’s exactly that.
After a couple of weeks of using it, my partner literally said to me, “It’s the best couch I’ve ever experienced.” I love it so much—the only con is that I wish I had more space to turn it into a sectional.
That being said, it’s fully modular, so you can really configure it to fit your space. If I move to a bigger apartment—or out of New York into a home—I can easily add on to it. I currently have the 3-piece sofa, but I’d love to add an ottoman or more seats later. For smaller NYC apartments, the two-seater is also a popular choice.
The couch comes in two seat depths: standard and large. I went with the standard, which is already really deep, but the large is also an option if you want an extra lounge-y feel.
Overall, the Movie Night Sofa lives up to the hype. See all the details below, and shop the couch for yourself.
Colors
If you’re torn on which color to get, like I was, Sundays offers free swatches so you can find the fabric that feels right for you. You can order them directly from the website under the “Order Free Swatches” section on the product pages.
Care Instructions
Water-based liquids will literally bead off, so you can easily clean them up with a paper towel. For tougher stains, you can use mild soap and water or remove the slipcovers to wash them. It’s recommended that if you machine wash them, you do so on a cold, gentle cycle—or do dry cleaning instead.
Price
The Movie Night collection starts at $2580, and the 3-piece modular with the standard seat depth is $3,790.
Delivery
The sofa came with free delivery and white-glove in-home assembly, which was truly seamless. On delivery day, the team helped me decide where to place the couch, set it up, and removed all packaging—at no extra charge.
Returns
If the couch isn’t the right fit for you, you can return it in its original condition within 30 days for a $150 fee.
