I'm Planning Some Weekend Cabin Getaways This Fall—30 Items I'm Packing With Me
I am a proud proponent of weekend getaways. They give you something to look forward to all week, and scratch that travel itch without having to submit any time off work, and are the perfect opportunity to bond with your friends in a change of scenery. Recently it was my birthday and I planned the perfect weekend away in South Hampton.
While usually I head to the Hamptons during peak season in the summer for a beach getaway but out east in the fall can be just as magical. While I normally escape to a hotel, in particular the Canoe Place Inn Cottages hotel in Hampton Bays which if I'm being honest might be my favorite hotel in all of the Hamptons (and I have stayed at several). With spacious rooms (an uncommon find out east) the best hotel restaurant, Good Ground Tavern I've eaten at in awhile and hosting Fireside Friday's every evening of hot cider, rich hot chocolate, gooey s’mores and live acoustic music all throughout the fall and other fun seasonal events all year round.
Since it was my birthday and I was hosting over 10 people, and since I caught the hosting bug, we ended up stayed in the most beautifully decorated quaint South Hampton home that had everything I could’ve wanted.
A lovely den-like seating arrangement on the back patio to sit and enjoy a glass of wine emerged in the fall foliage, huge ceilings, and a stunning large dining table where I hosted my birthday dinner party. The weekend went so well I ended up filling up the rest of my fall calendar with random weekends away, and not only that, but have complied the ultimate weekender packing list.
I included everything you’re going to need from eye masks incase the blinds at your Airbnb just don’t do it for you, a sweater dress that’s formal enough to wear to a dinner out yet cozy enough for a night in, the facial spray I don’t go anywhere without, and so many other buys I swear by.
Keep scrolling to take a look inside my suitcase.
I'm always wearing my Le Specs sunglasses and they go with everything, so if I'm going on a trip I make sure these come with.
It wouldn't be a fall weekend away without a good cashmere sweater.
Jeans that go with everything are always in my carry on.
This tote has a trolley pass through with zipper closure and additional zip pocket making it easy to place over a roller carry on. Plus its so chic.
This taming wand has made keeping slick-back looks and baby hairs in place easy, and it's small enough to fit in your hand bag.
Pinch Provisions has made the cutest travel kits for those of us who bring our work with us on weekends away. This one in particular is a little tech, a little office, and little personal care, and a while lot of convenience.
My friends and I are obsessed with the Summer Friday's Jet Lag Skin Soothing Hydration Mist, I keep it in my purse for daily use but it's key when going on a trip.
When going on a fall cabin or upstate weekend trip I like to bring one sweater dress for dinners or any outings. Easy to pack, cozy, and is just the right amount of "dressed up."
When it comes to travel pouches, Stoney Clover never misses.
Once you try this mini on-the go facial set you won't travel without it.
I don't go anywhere without this viral volumizing dry shampoo. Plus it smells so good.
I'm becoming a big sleep mask person, especially when traveling.
The best hair brush there ever was. And I'm not exaggerating.
If you haven't tried one of the Summer Fridays lip butter balms I'm not sure what you're waiting for. I currently own Vanilla, Iced Coffee, and Sweet Mint but I'm itching to get my hands on the other shades.
Easy to toss in your tote or travel pouch before heading out.
All your bronzed makeup needs shrunken down to fit your travel needs.
Picturing myself wearing this while walking through a quaint town full of fall foliage.
