Kate Middleton Just Wore a Zara Sweater for Her First Video Call

Offices around the world are now hosting all of their meetings on Zoom and Google Hangouts, and yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had their first virtual royal visit. William and Kate joined students and teachers at Casterton Primary Academy—a school that is close to Burnley General Hospital and is teaching the children of key workers so that they can continue to work on the frontline.

The royals have always been very strategic with their wardrobe choices, using their outfits to reflect the nature of their visit or convey a message, and they are clearly still sticking to these tactics over video conference. Kate seemed to reach for the brightest color she could find in her wardrobe, wearing a jolly orange sweater from Zara. The sweater is now sold out but was previously available for $37. "Dopamine dressing" is a phrase we keep seeing this week—a technique where you wear bright colors and prints as a small mood-booster.

According to fashion site Lyst, searches for statement earrings have increased since the outbreak, as they’re up 40% over the past seven days. Kate has also approached this Zoom styling trick, as she wore a pair of her favorite earrings by Catherine Zoraida.
